As Miles and Miguel flew through the portal, they continued wrestling, holding on to each other. It felt as if they were going through a water slide as they traversed the web-like structure of passageways in the spiderverse. Surrounding them was the bright orange color of the passageway, lighting up the darkness that otherwise would have shrouded them.

Soon they could see the portal into the unknown universe they were going to, and they briefly stopped grappling each other. Both held their breaths and closed their eyes as they prepared to smash into the ground.

But the ground never came, and when Miles opened his eyes, he was met with a dark blue void. The wind whooshed through his hair as him and Miguel continued falling, still holding onto each to each other.

He noticed small fragments of earth passing by them, split up into individual pieces, each only about the size of a car. One piece was a fragment of a brick structure, now only a small façade. Another was a piece of sidewalk, with a couple concrete tiles and some earth beneath. There was also one that was a piece of a lawn, the grass being held together by the soil underneath. And then there were countless more.

As the fragments flew past them, or they flew past the fragments, Miles looked back over to Miguel, who was also taking in the scene. Then, they both violently glitched, almost splitting apart as a result.

Finally Miguel spoke, "This is the dimension I was talking about, the one I destroyed because I disrupted a canon event."

Miles stayed silent.

"If this can't convince you, nothing will," he stated.

Miles just waited in silence.

"I'm sorry, but I can't just let my dad die," Miles finally said, grunting as he pushed Miguel away so that he would hit a fragment of earth.

With a sickening crack, Miguel hit some pavement, as Miles continued falling deeper into the void.

Miles glitched again, feeling the pain spreading throughout his body as his cells rapidly decayed. He looked around, looking for anything that could be of use to get him out of here. But all he saw was a bunch of puzzle pieces, a puzzle that would be impossible to solve.

Luckily, he wouldn't need to think much, as he was struck by Miguel that instant. The two spun around in the air, narrowly avoiding other fragments of the destroyed world they found themselves in. Their masks flew off as the wind tugged at their suits.

"Let go of me!" Miles yelled as Miguel restrained him.

"Oh, what's the matter?" Miguel taunted. "Girlfriend can't help you anymore?!" He punched Miles in the face, causing him to recoil, trying to get away from him.

"She's. not. my. girlfriend," Miles growled.

Miguel hesitated, a surprised expression on his face, "Wait, Really? You need to up your game, man. Have you heard of the shoulder touch?"

"Why does everyone keep telling me that?!" Miles yelled, his face reddening due to embarrassment. Using his newfound anger, he kicked Miguel in the no-go zone, causing him to get loose.

As Miles tried to force himself away from Miguel in their fall, Miguel managed to grab onto his foot, pulling him closer again.

Miles responded by landing a right hook on Miguel's cheek, causing him to get a nasty bruise.

They both glitched, harder than the last two times, causing them to fly apart. This time, Miles was the one to grab onto Miguel as he didn't want to be alone in the abyss.

"Can't you tell what has happened to this world, Miles? This is what we're preventing!" Miguel yelled over the wind.

"You're not stopping anything, you're just letting people die! What kind of Spider-Man just gives up like that!" Miles shouted, punching Miguel in the gut.
