Fateful Days

~~~~Xavier's POV~~~~

While walking around the campus to get to the cafeteria, the colour and vividness of the world hit me like a train. After experiencing that darkest night, my entire walk has just been filled with me experiencing all the colour that this world has to offer. After walking for a couple of minutes, the cafeteria was within my sight; I picked up the pace and was about to open the door but was stopped when another hand held the handle.

I looked to my right and there, a lady who's height was under than me by a few inches, was looking at me as well. I looked down and there I saw her eyes, emerald green eyes that were shining as bright as the jewel itself, and a chestnut brown hair that flows as smooth as the calmest waters. After staring at her for couple of seconds, I shook back to reality and let go of the handle quickly as possible.

I scratched the back of my next and grabbed the door handle and opened it for the lady. She smiled and thanked me then proceeded to head inside, I head inside right after her and apologised for taking her hand. I scurried off to the table that the others at, but while heading to my friends' table, the certain lady was taking glances at me as she was heading to her table with her friends. Thankfully, Edward bought food for me and left it on the empty seat, sadly, the food got a bit cold but I shrugged it off. I proceeded to take my seat and started eating, halfway through eating, Damien asked a question.

His question was, "Where were you by the way, Christian said you went off somewhere and couldn't find you after a bit"

I stopped eating and replied to Damien, "I was just chasing after something that caught my interest"

His confusion was plastered all over the place and the others had the same reaction, though they quickly let it slide as not to pry any further. I continued eating after that and swiftly finished my meal, then went up and take my tray to bin to empty it; though as while cleaning my tray, she appeared. She cleaned her tray and looked me, smiling, then walked away. I cleaned my tray and went back to the others, though while heading back, it seems a different person has joined the table.

I got back to the table and sat back to the seat, Dmitri then introduced the new person that's sitting at our table.

"Welcome back Xavier, meet Andrew. He's a friend I knew back in Primary School."

Andrew then took out his hand and I shook his hand while smiling, then replied,

"It's nice to meet you Andrew. I'm Xavier. The second eldest sibling"

Andrew smiled and responded, "Well, it's nice to meet you all"

Just as we were talking, Dmitri received a phone call and had to leave the table to answer it. While that was going on, the rest of us continued talking with Andrew. After a while, Dmitri returned but behind him was a girl; the others looked a bit confused but Andrew looked mesmerized when staring at her. Edward and Christian were teasing Andrew for staring at her, though as they finished their teasing. Dmitri spoke up and said,

"Hey guys, this is my sister, Selene. Is it cool that she hangs out with us?"

All of us shook our heads in unison to advise that it isn't a problem, she sat down and ate with us. As we were all introducing ourselves, I noticed Andrew staring at her, mesmerized as ever towards her. I laughed to myself and continued talking to Damien. A time progresses by, the bell rings to tell us that it's time for our next class; we all left the dining hall in unison and said our goodbyes to one another as we head to our individual classroom. Though, it seems like Edward has the same class as me de to him walking next to me and talking about what happened in the dining hall.

Edward initiated the conversation by, "It seems like we met a few new friends today, that's good. Right Xavier"

I smiled and replied, "Indeed, though it was funny seeing Andrew's face. I mean, have you seen him when Selene walked in? He looked like he was in a trance."

He started laughing and responded, "Indeed he was, it was definitely a sight that surprised me".

After walking while talking about what happened, we both reached our class and sat down in our seats. We finished speaking and take our notebooks out to record the class information. There was still a few minutes until class was about to start and then it was realised that the same lady who appeared to me multiple times today enters the classroom with her friend and sits next to me while chatting away. I take a quick glance and then look back to Edward who was currently going through his bag to check his equipment. Edward then puts the bag down and turns to me but glances at the person next to me and starts smirking, confusion struck on my mind but went back to the front; though as I went to the front, something caught my eye at the edge of it and turned to look. Right there and then, it was the lady looking directly at me and smiling.

Our gazes can pierce the heavens themselves for how long we've been at it. Though, when the bell hit, it removed us from our trance and returned to reality. It was at that moment, that I realised that my interest of her grew exponentially after this encounter. Class continued as normal but with occasional glances to one another but was normal as any other class. Once class ended after another 45 minutes, we all started packing up to the last class of today. Once finishing packing, I noticed the girl was with her friends and was leaving. A piece of me was wanting to run after her and ask who she is but majority of myself refrained and left the class with Edward. Edward and I met up with Christian and Llana to our last class as we happen to have Humanities together as the last subject.

Edward and Christian were talking about some new technology being developed but Llana looked over to me with a look of concern, she pulled me to the side before entering the class and told the others to go ahead as we'll both be in there in a minute; they nodded and headed in. Llana looked over to me and asked,

"Something is eating you up Xavier, I know you. Spill because I'm getting a bit concerned"

I smile and replied, "Nothing gets past you huh Llana? There is a person that caught my interest, any chance of communication to one another ends up in failure. I don't know about this person but something is screaming in me to speak with her"

She smirks and gives a sly 'ooh' from her face, then responded, "Did I hear that right? My older brother, Xavier is having an interest in someone other than the family? Now this is getting juicy"

I laugh and playfully punch her, to which she pretends to act hurt; I then returned, "Yeah, well this curiosity is definitely new to me. Well anyway, we need to head in now Llana. Let's go!"

Edward and Christian managed to get two free seats next to them, we both sit down and thank them. I looked around the room for a bit due to this being a new classroom for me, surprisingly, the same lady was behind me at the back; smiling at me. My eyes enlarge a bit and smile back while I turn back to the front. Unfortunately, Llana noticed my look and turned back to see the lady I was talking to her about and started to grin, while nudging me. I roll my eyes and prepare for the class.

Throughout class, it went on without a hitch though as time progresses and half way through it. A headache appeared but was tolerable, it also seemed like someone was speaking to me into my head when it happened. The exact words that were uttered when it happened was, 'Meet me at the tree that you encountered earlier'. This caught my interest as she was able to create a direct link to my head using 'Sabin', I looked back and she looked like she had a massive headache, it seemed like that, that was the drawback of using the ability on me. I silently agreed and continued listening to the lesson.

After the remaining 25 minutes of class has ended, I packed up my stuff and told the others to head out without me and that I needed to do something before heading back home. Edward and Christian looked confused but shrugged it off, they left to relay my message to Damien and Llana looked at me while smirking; she mouthed 'Go get her tiger'. I rolled my eyes again and left the class to go to the tree from where I had that experience. After a few minutes, it was then that I'm face to face with the very tree that made me reminisce some memories or visions of someone. I then hear laughing in the surrounding are, not some chaotic laughing but a genuine laugh and then again. It was the very same lady who is now right here in front of me and smiling gleefully and in that moment, I gathered a bit of courage and asked her,

"Who are you?"

She smiled and responded, "I am..."
