As my eyes adjusted I saw what seemed to be the end of the world. I saw the world in ruins, fires, ashes, destroyed buildings. It's almost as if the world crumbled around me. I struggled as I slid the door open. I took a step out and was greeted with a big gust of wind full of ashes, all swept into my face. My lungs began to fill with smoke as I found myself in a coughing fit. I cleared my throat and began walking trying to identify my surroundings. “These buildings.. It's almost as if I never left the building.” I thought to myself. “What if I never left…” I said aloud. I rushed down the now destroyed road looking for something, anything that would tell me what I needed to know. As I rushed down the road for quite some time I stopped. I saw a pile of trash with a bunch of paper lying on top. The first thing I saw was a newspaper.
Normally one would be surprised that people still use newspapers as they are very rarely made anymore, however my town is one of which uses newspapers quite often.
I squint my eyes as I attempt to read the paper. It is partially on fire with quite a few holes.
“A lab made chemical gets released into the world causing a new virus, bringing chaos and destruction along with it. This chemical has gained abnormal abilities, including; controlling infected nature and ecosystems by using gas, and it comes in gas hordes..”
My eyes widened and my heart started to beat faster as I looked at the date. “May 4th, 2067” I said with a shuttered voice. I stepped back, my brain feeling scrambled. I turn my head back at the elevator and see it in flames. I stand there not knowing what to do as I snap back into reality. I rush over to the elevator, looking for anything that may be able to help me. I stand there in defeat knowing that I have nothing. Knowing that I'm stuck here forever. I slump to the ground with a feeling of defeat. I sit there with so many different thoughts pondering through my head.
