I woke up, taking my time to get up. As It clicked in my head what had happened. I looked around to see the gas nowhere to be found. I grabbed the paper for the fungi and read through the whole thing, hoping for a cure for all of of this.
"Emergency treatment for abrupt fail: μυκητιακή θεραπεία" I read in excitement "Find a source of fungi shown here, place whole bottle over the source" I dropped the paper and rushed to the fridge, looking back and forth at the paper to find the right bottle.
There it was. Unopened, the cure. Right here. I grabbed the bottle and stuffed it in my bag, and ran over to the door.
I ripped the tape off of the bottom of the door, and started pulling away the cloth. I grabbed the card and scanned it. As the door opened, I ran out. The orange fungi was gone, out of sight. I walked over to the glass door and took a deep breath.
I walk out of the room as I look to my left. All of it, all of the fungi is now gone. I run down the hall and climb through the window. As I step outside, I glance upwards as I see the sun rising up over the mountains.
Despite the world being in ruins, the sunrise is still as beautiful as ever.
I see a gas horde moving farther away through the trees. I build up the courage and start running towards it.
As I make it to the beginning of the forest, I stop to catch my breath. I look up in a panic and push myself to keep going.
I keep running, pushing my way through the trees, scratches appearing on my body as the branches graze over my skin.
I bust through the last of the trees, as I see myself face to face with the gas horde. A few feet in front of me, I am barely able to see through the gas, I see somebody running away from it. Dad.
