Today was going to be fun! It was our first game!

"Okay, guys, we gotta get out there," Alex told us. "I'm not great at inspirational speeches, but I just wanna say.. no matter what happens out there today, I'm so proud of you guys. The true measure of a person is not in how many times they fall down, but it's how many times they pick themselves back up. And today, I have a feeling that you are all going to fall down.. a lot. But there's one thing I know, and that is that over the last few days, we've really become a team. And to make it official," she started while pulling out jerseys out of a box. "I've got jerseys!" I caught my jersey and put it on.

"Check it out. I'm standing up!" Logan said awkwardly, skating over to me.

"Nice, man!" I said.

"Yeah, you should take face-off!" Evan told him. "Really?" he asked. "Yeah, totally." Evan told him again. I watch as Logan goes to take face off. I skated past Evan. "Are you sure that's a good idea?" I asked. "We'll see." He replied. I took my place as defense.

As the game went on, the more the other team won. I almost scored 3 goals, but the goalie was good. Nick told me I'm a very good defense. The game was pretty good. Just not for us. Evan hated it. Nick had mixed emotions. Koob was zoned out. Maya was talking to Lauren. Sam was talking about how cool it was to knock down people. I chimed in with Sam here and there. Logan was pretty quiet. We all changed and left to go home. As I was walking out, Logan stopped me. "Delilah!" He yelled. "What's up?" "Do you uh," He paused for a second. "Wanna...go out..tonight? You know, to celebrate our first game even though it didn't go well." I laughed a bit, knowing it wasn't cause of that. "Sure, why not?" "Okay, cool! I'll see you later!" "Yeah, bye." I walked away.

I was in my bathroom getting ready when Dad came in.

"Why are you getting dressed up, Delilah? Who's the boy?" He asked protectively

"There's no boy." "Don't lie to me, D." Dad asks, sitting on my bed."I'm just going to hang out with 2 girls from my hockey team! Maya and Lauren!" I lied. "You sure you're not just seeing that blonde boy?" He asked. I sighed. "Fine, and his name is Logan. He asked me out, and I said sure!" I looked at him. "I knew it!" Dad said, shooting up off my bed, pointing at me. "You're not mad?" "Well a little, but I had a girlfriend at your age," He paused and walked to the door. "But if he breaks your heart. I break him." I raised my eyebrows. "Logan's not my boyfriend, but I appreciate the protectiveness." I joked. Dad left and went into his office.

I'm just wearing jeans, a T-shirt, and my leather jacket with sneakers. One blue, one black. I leave and walk to Logan's house. He's waiting on the porch wearing a nice black shirt with 3 white buttons near the neck, but the top button wasn't buttoned.

"Hey, Lilah!" He said. "Hi, Logan." "You look nice!" He complemented. "I look basic." "Don't say that!" "Well I do! That's what I was going for."

We walk down the street to a nearby ice cream shop. Logan has his arm around me the whole way. When he did it, I laughed. He opened the door like a gentleman. "After you, M'lady!" He smiles. "Why, thank you!" I replied. We laughed and went up to order. He pays even though I said we could split it. He's sweet. We walk outside at a table with an umbrella in the middle and sit down. "I said we'd split it." "I didn't agree!" He said, eating his ice cream, and I began to eat mine shaking my head. We start talking about the game, school, and other random things. We walked over to a trash can and walked back home. Logan walks me to my door. "That was actually pretty fun." I said, going to unlock the front door."It was!" Logan replies."So I'll see you tomorrow?" Logan asked."Yeah!" "Cool! Goodnight, Lilah!" Logan gives me a hug. We pulled away, and his hands were still on my sides. I gave into my weird feeling and kissed him. I can tell he was shocked, but he still kissed back. "See you tomorrow." I said, then went into my house. I ran up into my room and closed the door. I guess I do like him back.
