TW: Swearing, Blood/Gore, Death, Trauma

Dream's POV

I scanned over each of their faces as they stood closely. Suddenly, two wolf-like ears were visible between the shoulders of the fox and the brunette. It wasn't much to go off of, but it was enough.

"Tubbo," I asked the tall boy. "Would you mind moving to your left about 5 steps?"

I watched his face pale as he attempted to find a reason not to move, taking note of Wilbur's golden facial expression. His facade was slipping. Tubbo began sputtering excuses that I didn't want to hear.

"Tubbo," I said, dropping my voice dangerously. "Move to your left."

He did, revealing Y/N. The woman had a very loose braid, about to fall out, and looked extremely tired as well as being annoyed. I couldn't help but notice that she looked great in green. Her wrists though... they were tied up tight (though the knot seemed to barely hold it together). The skin around the rope was red and raw, visible even from here.

I'll admit, I was worried about her. I trusted that she would make it back before sunset, but I began to worry when the time kept passing. Eventually George and Sapnap had to drag me to bed where I reluctantly succumbed to sleep, waking up early and checking her room immediately. I had a terrible gut feeling all day.

However, I don't understand how she got caught. If she's supposed to be better than Technoblade, then what happened? She could have escaped. But she didn't...

"Alright Wilbur. Here's my deal. You win, you get your independence, I never bother you again, unless it's an emergency, and you get to keep your little hostage! I mean, sister," I offered. "If I  win, you lose any hope of independence, hand over Mellohi, and I'll take my friend back where she belongs. Deal?"

"DEAL!" Tommy yelled, running up to shake hands with Dream. I was surprised that he had been able to stay this quiet for so long. Wilbur, however, seemed furious it hadn't lasted longer, as he took Y/N aside and whispered something angrily to her. She replied, leaving him to storm off. She sat in the grass and easily shook off the ropes. I could vaguely hear Sap and George talking to me, but I was lost in thought. She was captivating.

"Alright, men! Grab your bows and three arrows each," Wilbur yelled. Sapnap and George handed me my weapon as I walked forward to face my competitor. "Backs to each other. I will count ten paces. At ten, I will yell fire and fire you shall. First to land an arrow wins. Ready yourselves."

He took a few steps back to give us room. I could feel Tommy breathing deeply to calm himself.

"One."

I can do this.

"Two."

I know what I'm doing.

"Three."

He won't hold back.

"Four."

Neither will I.

"Five."

I will win.

"Six."

The drug trade will fall.

"Seven."

The rebellion will fall.

"Eight."

I can do this.

"Nine."

For her.

"Ten, Fire!"

Tommy shot immediately. He missed me by an inch as I ducked out of the way. He jumped into the pond below as I shot one back. I tried once again as he popped up on the other side of the wooden bridge connecting the path, but to no avail. He once again shot at me and tried to get out of the water. I breathed out as I let the arrow fly, watching it land on his chest. I had won.
