Beyblade Burst Evolution - Rantaro Kiyama & Wakiya Murasaki
Back from hiatus and writing fluff for once, how fun

Wakiya didn't know which room was Rantaro's.
The night breeze blew through his hair, the evening chill seeping through his windbreaker. The rock he held in his hand was freezing to the touch, but it was the only way he knew to contact Rantaro. He did have his phone somewhere in the bottom of his pack, but it was dead and he didn't have a charger to charge it again.
So, Wakiya stood outside the B.C Sol dorms, debating which room would've been given to two rowdy kids straight out of elementary school. He'd narrowed it down to the middle floors, and most likely a generic room - not on the ends, but not in the middle either - but that still left a dozen options. He didn't want to give some beytrainer a heart attack at 3 AM.
Thankfully, he wouldn't have to guess.
"Wakiya?"
Wakiya screamed upon the new voice, swiveling in it's direction and throwing his rock at the new person.
The rock that proceeded to smack Rantaro in the eye.
"Oh! Ow!" Rantaro exclaimed, hands immediately clutching his eye.
"Rantaro! Oh my fuck- I am so, so sorry!" Wakiya raced over, pulling Rantaro close to try and get a better look.
"Ow! Wakiya, I'm fine."
"Let me see, please? I'm sorry- I just, I was going to throw it at your window but then you scared me, and-"
"Wakiya, Wakiya," Rantaro took his hands off his eye to hold his friends' shoulders. "I get it, it's okay. I woke up from Valt's snoring and saw you out here. My fault for startling you."
Wakiya gingerly touched the area around Rantaro's eyes, his touch as soft as an angel feather. "Shit, Rantaro that's going to leave a mark. I'm sorry, oh my fuck, oh my fuck-"
"Wakiya." Rantaro said, voice stern to get Wakiya to look up at him. "It'll be okay. Now, come here."
Rantaro held out his arms, Wakiya gratefully rushing to hug his best friend. He inhaled the minty scent of his short hair and freshly washed clothes, breathing it all in.
Rantaro held him tight. "What's going on Wakiya?"
"I'm worried about him."
"I know, Wakiya. I know."
"I just feel like I barely talked to him, and maybe if I had reached out more maybe he would've stuck around, or if I knew I could've convinced him-"
"Wakiya, Wakiya, mate." Rantaro stepped back so Wakiya would look directly into his eyes. "You're spiraling. Just breathe with me, in for four, hold, out for four."
Rantaro walked Wakiya through the same breathing exercise for the next few minutes, the two of them still awake despite all the B.C Sol members asleep.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come-"
"No, no, Wakiya, you don't have to apologize. You're not to blame for what's going on."
"But-"
"No buts. We'll find him, don't worry. We've just got to stay strong until then."
"It's hard."
"I know, I know." Rantaro's warm hand slipped into Wakiya's freezing one. "But you're not going through this alone, okay? You've still got all of us."
Wakiya rested his head on Rantaro's shoulder. "Yeah, I know."
