Ducktales 2017 - Gyro Gearloose & Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera

My life is in shambles but have this

-

"You know you always call me at the worst times, right?"

"Aw, don't be like that, Gyro."

Gyro sighed, annoyed. "What do you want?"

"I'm bored. Angela's knee deep in end of term projects, and I don't have anything to do." Fenton said, mindlessly flipping through channels on his TV.

"Try having to fix a robot which has half of it's system needing a reworking."

"You're fixing up Boyd? Why didn't you tell me you need help?"

"Because I don't need help."

"Come on, I'm a full time scientist now. I'm sure I can help somehow."

"I'm not looking to have a partner for this. I work solo."

"I'll keep you company, then! I can head over as soon as my mom gets home, which shouldn't be long now."

"I need to focus on this. The sooner Boyd is back up and running, the better."

"Late night coffee run?" Fenton tried.

"We both know you'd end up staying later, and then you'd sleep on my couch because you don't want to go home at midnight and risk waking up your niece and mother." Gyro said. He should know, it's happened many times before.

"Look at that: my mom's back! I'll be over in twenty, with a coffee!"

Gyro just groaned as he hung up.

-

"Surprisingly enough, no coffee shops are open this late. But I got you one of the sodas you like!" Fenton said as he walked into Gyro's lab, car keys dangling from one hand and a blue soda in his other.

"Leave it on the desk. I'll drink it later." Gyro said, gesturing to one of the tables in the lab as he fiddled with Boyd's wires and circuit boards.

"Just how long have you been here? You look like you haven't slept in days."

"Because I haven't." Gyro mumbled to himself.

"What was that?" Fenton asked.

"Nothing."

Fenton frowned. "As your partner, Dr. Crackshell-Cabrera, I order you to stop working so you can go home and get some sleep."

"You know you make me regret giving you that title more and more every day, right?" Gyro said with a yawn. "And that won't work on me anyways. I've gotta finish this."

"You can finish it tomorrow." Fenton argued, trying to pull the scientist out of his seat.

"But I'm here now."

"I'm not caving, Gyro! You look like you're going to fall asleep any second now!"

"I do not!" Gyro turned in his seat to face the other scientist, obvious bags under his eyes. "I'm fine. Drop off the soda and go." He pointed to the door.

"As a matter of fact," Fenton said as he hopped onto the table to sit on it. "I won't be going. I'm staying until you go."

"Be my guest." Gyro replied sarcastically, moving to go back to working on Boyd.

"Come on, Gyro!" Fenton leaned over Gyro's workstation, preventing him from working. "Why can't you take a break?"

"Why can't you stop nagging me?"
