Both Himiko and Ochako dreaded the next day, but like any other day, it appeared.
The guards cuffed the thief and walked her out to the barred carriage. The ride to the place she'd take her final breath seemed long and short at the same time.
The carriage stopped at the bottom of the hill, the guards flanking around Toga as they marched up. At the top, the blondes breath caught.
The cliffs were covered in lush bushes and trees, vibrant flowers blooming everywhere. The air smelled clean, unlike the prison. The ocean waves crashed below, water rippling. A crowd of commoners stood in front of the guillotine, which quickly snapped Himikos thoughts back to her situation. The king, queen, and Ochako sat off to the side, the adults looking joyous and excited, while the brunette, looked on the verge of tears.
This was it, thought Toga, I'm going to die here.
The crowd parted as the blonde was led to the stage, which sat a little too close to the ledge for her liking. Her cuffs were unlocked and she rubbed her wrists.
The king stood and all eyes turned to him, "dearest citizens, we are here today to witness the execution of a known thief, one that has likely stolen from many of you in her years of villainy. But that stops now, no longer will you be forced to live in fear of such a criminal."
Rolling her eyes, the blonde looked at Uraraka, who stood still and silent, unwilling to meet the others gaze.
"Let's get this over with," Himiko muttered under her breath and the nearest guard shot her a glare.
The following scene seemed to happen in slow motion. Toga was led closer to the guillotine but before they could force her down, a cry came from the shout.
"No!" Ochako cried, and before anyone could stop her, she bolted towards the blonde, tackling her over the edge. The man in black who'd been sharpening his knife, made a move to grab the princess, but missed.
The crowd gasped, screams emerging as the two tumbled towards the ocean below, but the noises could've been from either of them.
Red eyes filled with fear met caramel eyes filled with a deep determination.
"I won't let you go this time," she whispered, but the sound was stolen by the wind.
Finally, when it felt like the two were about to crash into the freezing water, a shimmering vortex appeared from beneath them, swallowing them. The pair landed on soft carper.
Mina appeared over them, giggling, "my, that was very romantic."
Toga sat up, looking back and forth between the two, "was this all part of a plan? One I wasn't a part of?"
"You really thought we'd let you die?" Mina asked.
"Or that i'd jump off that cliff in order to save you which would've led to us both dying?" Uraraka asked, sitting up as well, before shrugging, "I mean I would've, but that's not the point."
The blonde grinned, teeth flashing, "does this mean I can kiss you again?"
"I suppose," the other said, faking an exasperated sigh.
The two leaned in and Mina backed away, stepping out the door. They giggled before giving each other a small peck.
"So, what now?" the blonde wondered aloud.
"I was thinking i'd join you guys and become a heartened criminal, though I think it should be more 'steal from the rich, give to the poor.'"
Himiko laughed, "Ok Robin Hood. But that does sound like a wonderful idea."
They kissed, and this time, neither regretted a single thing.
~The End~
That ending seemed a little rushed, but it's fine.
The stories done! That's wild, it took over a year to complete...
