Hidiya's pov

It was after school and I was super excited to spend the rest of the day with my mom!

I waved goodbye to Demetrius as I opened the car door to my mom's car. He waves back then starts heading his usual way to the grocery store.

"Hi my Hidi baby! How was school?!" I shook my hand as in.

It was okay.

My mom always seems to understand what I mean. So she asked.

"Oh! You're gonna have to tell me when we get to the restaurant! We're going to one of my favorites! You'll LOVE it!" She said as I nodded. She starts to drive and we get to the restaurant in less than 15 minutes.

We walk into the restaurant and are greeted by two beautiful women.

"Hi Ladies!" One of them says.
"Welcome to Honeybee's House! Where we serve the best honey glazed burgers!" (Honestly I couldn't think of anything. If you've had a honey glazed burger, what is it like??)

What the heck is a honey glazed burger?

"Yes!! We are here to have some amazing burgers! Can we get a table for two? Thank you so much!" The ladies both nodded as they worked accordingly to hand us a menu then to walk us to our table.

"What can I get you guys to drink?" One of the ladies ask.

"Thank you so much for asking. My daughter here prefers to not speak so I'll be ordering for the both of us!" She says while smiling to the waiters.

"No problem Miss. What would you guys like to drink?"

My mom gave them both of our preferences and they went along to get it prepared.

"Hidiya! How's school been!" She asked giving me a warming smile.

So I texted her.

Me
"It's been really good! My grades have been excelling. Except for English, I'm sorry I'll try to work on it. But I've made some really good friends!"

"Oh honey. Don't worry about excelling in school. I know your father and I were very hard on you when we were homeschooling you but that's because we know you're potential. I want you to just have fun as much as you can. Yes grades are important but so are you."

I smiled.

"What are your friends like? Tell me about all of them!"
