As the deadline until the second task was coming closer, all three contestants were still parallel with the golden egg. None of them knew what to do with the egg or how to open it, if that's what they needed to do with it.
"This doesn't make any sense!" Gellert said as he examined his golden egg for the tenth thousandth time. "It's just broken, I guess."
Albus was in front of him. They were in the Great Hall, at the Gryffindor table; both of them with their prize egg in front of them.
"Have you ever tried pouring water on it?" Albus said, looking up at Gellert.
"I once spilled water on it, but it started shaking and making a weird sound and I had to wipe the water off."
     "Let's try again." Albus proposed.
They went to the closest boys' bathroom and to the sinks. Albus twisted the tap and the water started pouring over the eggs at the same time. The eggs, as Gellert said, started shaking and making weird sounds. Then, where the sides of the eggs were separated, started glowing and the sides were opening like flower petals. The inside was a glowing solid, looking like small Suns. A voice erupted from the glow and spoke loudly.
"In the dark, beneath the ground,
     Where the Sun cannot shine,
I hide the treasure of your life
And I'll harm it if you don't arrive.
30 minutes, that's all you have."
Albus and Gellert looked confused at each other for a while; in the meantime, the eggs started closing again.
"What's the only place at the Hogwarts grounds that contains creatures and the Sun doesn't shine?" Gellert asked.
"The Lake. There aren't creatures under the ground, otherwise we would all be thrown in the air. The Lake has the Giant Squid, Merpeople. These are the ones that could be reasoned with without deathly harming the people."
"How do you know that?" Gellert asked, puzzled.
"I am extremely clumsy and I used to fall in the lake so many times before my fifth year. The Giant Squid helped me each time to get to the surface and put me on the ground. The Merpeople are also understanding, but they firstly threaten you, then release you if you don't take anything from them." Albus explained.
"So, the Merpeople are hiding something in the Lake and we have to take it back under 30 minutes, right?"
"Sounds right to me. But we'll have to figure out what they took." Albus said, brading his hair.
"Want me to help?" Gelelrt asked as he saw Albus struggling to  start the braid.
     "If you know how, yes."
Gellert separated Albus' hair in three sections and started braiding; one minute and he was done and Albus handed him the hair tie on his hand.
"You have such luxuriant hair, love." Gellert complimented Albus.
"Thanks." Albus blushed, bringing his braid on his right shoulder.
His red hair was contrasting strongly with the black robes of the Hogwarts uniform. His face, blushed, was also contrasting with the robes.
Gellert took his lover's face in his hands; Albus placed his own hands over Gellert's. The blond kissed him on the forehead.
"I really don't want to compete against you. I love you..." Gellert admitted.
"Me neither. I love you, too."
