"Hello everyone and welcome to the second task of the Triwizard Tournament!" Professor Tilson spoke with the amplification from the wand. "Today, as the contestants had already figured out, the task will take place in the Black Lake."
Albus, Gellert and Cécile were prepared, in their swimsuits, on the deck. As the horn erupted, they all jumped in the water. Each of them had a different method of breathing underwater. Cécile had a spell which cast a balloon of air around her head, Gellert had eaten a weird weed that his headmaster gave him, but Albus just trusted his brother who gave him a special candy, which, surprisingly, worked.
As they swam in the Black Lake, they met all kinds of fish and creatures, they even met some tentacles of the Giant Squid. After minutes of searching, they were held back by the tridents of the merpeople.
"One shall not pass until their will is known." the merwoman that held Cécile said.
"We want to take what you keep from us." Gellert said and tried to approach the merman that held him.
He hissed at Gellert and pinned his trident even deeper in the blonde's neck.
"Ouch!" Gellert said and backed off a little.
Albus looked around and tried to figure out a way to get past the merpeople.
"Aren't you made to do this? I mean, didn't someone make you guard these stuff you're keeping?" Albus asked and the merman holding him back loosened his grip onto the tirdent.
"What made you have such thoughts?" a merwoman asked.
"You're free most times, but now you have to do it. Do you really like it or you honor your duty?" Albus said.
"We don't need to give you, children, explanations." the merman holding Albus said.
"But we're listening." Albus said.
"And we're here for you." Gellert got in Albus' game.
"You children are unbearable! One more comment and-"
"And you'll tell us what happened?" Cécile said.
"Go, we never want to lay eyes on you again." the merwoman, the queen of the merpeople, told them and all the merpeople got out of their way.
"That was a good plan." Cécile told Albus. "How did you know they are so easy to irritate?"
"You study them in the fifth year at Hogwarts." Albus replied.
When they saw a long algae going up in the water, they looked along it until they saw what it was holding onto. It was Jeremy the first algae was holding; the first because there were other two algae holding Cécile's sister and Gellert's best friend. They tried to find a sharp object to cut the algae with. Nothing around. They tried to rip it apart, but it was too strong.
Under a rock, something was shining. It was a tip of one of the merpeople's tridents. Albus saw it and picked it up. He started cutting the algae from right under Jeremy's foot. It worked and in a couple of minutes, he was at the shore with Jeremy.
The friend of Aberforth was gasping for air, gripping onto his friend, telling him he doesn't remember anything since breakfast.
After a few minutes, both Gellert and Cécile came in sight with the ones they saved.
"And, the winner of the second task is the Hogwarts' contestant, Albus Dumbledore!" the Beauxbatons headmistress said, with her voice amplified.
"Good ideas, dear!" Gellert whispered to Albus as he put his right hand on Albus' left shoulder. "Nor I or Cécile could've thought about any of them."
