It was Alastair's 21st birthday. And I was nervous

How am I gonna tell him I need to leave early "oh hey Alastair I need to leave to go get your birthday gift for your surprise birthday. By the way it's a dog."

Maybe I'll just say Claire and I are gonna hang out? I feel hands wrap around my waist "I have to go to work soon" he says nuzzling his head into my neck. Thank god.

"That's fine Claire and I were planning on hanging out today." I say turning my head towards him, he nods.

I shift in his arms "happy birthday muffin" I say giving him a small smile, he gives me a smile. "Thank you darling."

Alastair and I ate breakfast then he had to get ready for work, after he left Claire and I got ready.

It took Cesare 20 minutes to get here, "sorry Alastair was asking me a bunch of questions" he says.

"Do you want shotgun?" I ask Claire she shakes her head, and I nod.

I get in the drivers seat "you okay?" I whisper to Cesare, he gives me a small nod.

It took us about an hour to get to the pet store, when we got there I talked with the person at the desk saying how we were looking for a dog.

I wanted to get Alastair a dog because I feel like it would help him. She showed us some dogs.

"What kind of dog do you think he'll like?" I ask, Cesare says the golden retriever. And Claire says the German Shepard.

My head turns to a husky, and it was the cutest it was a baby, I smiled at the husky and walk towards it.

"That one has gone through at least 2 homes" one of the workers say, I frown.

"How come?" I ask her, she tells me the first house abused the husky, and the second home said it was to annoying.

I pet the husky "I think we'll take her." I smile the worker nods i pick her up and walk to the front desk.

"Do you have name for her?" I shook my head I want Alastair to pick the name. We all payed for her and drove to the pet store to grab things we may need.

We spent at least 200 dollars on her getting what she needed.

We were now driving home to prepare for his party. Claire and I bake the cake as Cesare..well tried to decorate he's popped 4 balloons already.

Claire and I decorate the cake, the hand writing was a little messy but that's okay.

I put the cake in the fridge and look at the time 6:30 p.m. Alastair said he'll be home either 8 or 9.

I go upstairs and prepare his first gift. I write in the card I got him, and put it in the envelope, next I grab the stuffed animal I hid in my old room,

I open it and put it in the bag I wrapped it in tissue paper before, I put more tissue paper.

I then remember the bracelet I made for him, I made matching ones for us, I put his in the bag.

I then go and shower to start getting ready for his party.

I put on some make up and a dress I bought not to long ago, I smiled to myself over these past few months I've become more comfortable wearing dresses.

I looked at the time 7:30 p.m. he could be home soon.

I go downstairs to see the kitchen was finished decorating. I put his gift bag at the counter, and wait a little Claire comes down a few minutes later.
