Chapter 24: New Students

It was morning in Japan, Midoriya was in a TV station's break room as he'll be interviewed today for his battle against Stain. He wasn't alone, as his older siblings and aunt were with him. The greenette was in his UA uniform as he nervously tapped his foot. "Hey, relax, little bro. You got this." Rika reassured her youngest brother.

"Yeah. This isn't the first time you have appeared on TV. You've done it multiple times." Yuugo added.

"First off, the first time was unintentional when I was a vigilante. The rest is our jobs or hobbies we love to do because of Dad." Midoroya remarked.

"So you already know what to say when you get out there?" Machi asked.

"I'm just going to be honest with myself. However, I know many villains will come after me because of my fight with Stain. But I know I'm ready and prepared for that, along with having great people supporting me." Midoriya answered. 

"You're damn right on that." Hikaru agreed with a smile. Everyone then heard a knock at the door. A female employee entered the room after opening the door.

"Izuku Midoriya, they're ready for you." The female employee announced.

"Ready to face the music?" Ken asked his brother. "No. But I have to." Midoriya admitted.

Midoriya left the break room and entered the talk show set. He saw the male and female hosts that'll be interviewing him. The female noticed Midoriya as the crew was setting everything up. "Oh, you're here! Please, have a seat." The female host said. Midoriya took his seat as the camera crew pointed the camera at them.

The camera crew silently counted down then the camera lights turned on. The interview was now beginning. "Hello, and good morning everyone! Today we'll interview the man who took on the Hero Killer: Stain." The male interviewer announced.

"Shockingly, this man defeated Stain and had the villain arrested. Today, we're going to interview the man himself! Let us say hello to UA University student Izuku Midoriya!" The female interviewer presented.

The camera turned to Midoriya, who gave a wave to the camera. "Mr. Midoriya, can you tell us why you desire to become a hero?" The female TV host asked.

"My motivations for becoming a hero were revealed in my speeches at the Sports Festival. I was inspired by my dad, Takeru Mamoru, the late Pro Hero, Alpha Wolf. Including All Might, as I idolized both of them." Midoriya answered.

"Can you tell us a little about your past before enrolling at UA?" The female TV host requested.

"Honestly, I didn't have a great beginning. As I said at the Sports Festival, I was bullied, tormented, and became the laughing stock when my Quirk didn't manifest until I was fifteen. However, the torment didn't stop because my past peers from junior high and high school, along with those teachers, labeled me a villain because of my Quirk. But that didn't stop me as I remembered my father's words about what makes someone a hero or villain. A Quirk doesn't dictate someone becoming a hero or villain; only their actions dictate that." Midoriya explained.  

"I put myself through spirit-shattering and hellish training to prove them wrong. To prove the neigh sayers that they were wrong about me. But my father wasn't the only one who gave me hope. Before getting into UA, I met All Might and asked him if I could be a hero with my Quirk. It didn't take him one second to tell me I can become a great hero, and he meant it." Midoriya added.
