𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐌𝐄𝐓 𝐁𝐘 the crisp beach air as she headed down the calm street towards Jamie's milkshake bar. It had been far too long since she had dropped in. As she entered, she was greeted with a pleasant smile.

"Colette?" Jamie was baffled not believing his eyes. "Hey, Jamie." Colette greeted as she approached the counter. It was still early, so the milkshake bar was virtually empty. With no one nearby, the duo had time to talk and catch up.

"So, how has life been treating you?" Jamie inquired, eliciting a little chuckle from Colette. "It's been really good, Jamie." Jamie chuckled at her, his wrinkles defining as his brow furrowed in scepticism "What happened?"

"I'm in love Jamie, real love." Jamie smiled warmly, the warm smile that felt like the summer sun. He felt a sense of déjà vu from years before seep into his thoughts. Anabelle had gone to Jamie years before to tell him the same thing about Henry.

"What's his name?" Jamie inquired softly. Colette looked down at her hand before looking the man in the eyes. "Bradley." Jamie smiled as he took the woman into his arms. "You know, your mother came to me and said something similar years ago." Colette laughed, tears welling up in her eyes.

Jamie let go of the woman returning to the opposite side of the counter. "What will it be?" Jamie inquired, "My usual and a lime please." Jamie gave her a nod before making his way towards the blenders. Colette walked over towards the tables and chairs opening her phone to her father's message.

'I heard from a little birdy that you and Bradley are a couple?'

'Would this birdy's name be Maverick? And yes dad, we are a couple'

'Alright, maybe that is the birdy's name.'

'Called it'

'I'm telling Hollywood, love you hon'

Colette laughed as she shook her head, confident that her father would never grow up. Jamie placed the two milkshakes on the counter in takeaway cups. Colette took notice of this and rose up to approach the man. She reached for her wallet before being stopped by a kind hand.

"It's on the house. Allow me to do this for you." Jamie smiled at the woman with his trademark welcoming smile. Colette let out a loud sigh before resting her other hand on his. "Ok, Jamie, I'm not going to fight you this time." Jamie laughed as Colette reached for the milkshakes.

"See you next time Colette." Jamie shouted as the woman walked towards the door. "Love you Jamie, I'm paying double next time!" Colette exclaimed before walking out onto the street leaving the grey-haired man chuckling. She would never change.

She strolled towards the window, looking out at the waves broke along the shore, after setting the milkshakes down.
