You never thought that finding an apartment would be this hard. It's been two weeks since you received the message to get your ass off and you haven't had any success regarding a new home. Or a new job.
You were lucky to get your last apartment sponsored by the music company you played for.

Now you are completely on your own for Serpico is busy finding something, too. However he is fortunate enough to have a sister with a free room. You bet he'll only live there until he found something new but nonetheless he already has a new home. A home in which he can stay for the long term, too.

You already got all your stuff packed which isn't too much but you get more desperate with every hour that passes getting to the point where you would even move to a complete stranger just to know that you will have a roof over your head by the end of this week.

Suddenly a thought crosses your mind.
A complete stranger ... only until you found something else.

Without hesitating you grab your phone and dial Serpico's number. The desperation got a hold on you.
You're clever enough not to message Sonia and ask for help. She likely will question every decision you make nad later on inform her boyfriend about everything.

Serpico picks up.

"Yes?"

"Does your sister have Guts' number?", you ask without wasting time.

There's a moment of silence on the other side.

"You're planning on moving in with him? I didn't think you'd have the wits to get this kind of idea. But I like it. Wait, let me ask Farnese."

Your heart beats rapidly.
You're not surprised by Serpico's quick mind.

Please let her have his number.
Please.
You'll worry about the payment later. And Guts.

"Hello y/n?", Serpico asks.

"Yes I'm here."

"I'll send it to you but I promised Farnese that you'll play something at her birthday party next month, okay?"

Anything for a home.

"Yeah sure. Thank you so much Serpico. You saved my ass!"

He chuckles.
"Guts didn't agree yet. Don't thank me too early."

"I'll keep you updated. Again thank you. Byeee."

"See you."

You quickly add the new contact and message Guts.

You
Hey this is Y/N, Sonia's cousin. Farnese's brother is my violin teacher which is how I got your number. I was wondering if you need a new roommate?? I know someone who urgently needs a new apartment by the end of this week and thought that it would be okay for you if I like ... moved in.
It doesn't have to be forever just so long until I find something else. And don't worry about the rent, I'll pay you. It would be awesome if you thought about it because as I said it's really really urgent and I can't find anything else.
Thanks! ( ╹▽╹ )

You send the message and shut your phone immediately. If Guts disagrees you're forced to move back to your parents' place. Not that you didn't like them you just don't want to get scolded all day long for doing what you love. Sooner or later you will return to them. At least over Christmas but for now you're happy with the distance.

After a whole day of peering at your phone screen without receiving the unbanning message you are almost insane. Either Guts is ignoring you or he doesn't use his phone.
You don't know the work times of someone in the military hence you blame it on them.

Sitting between your cardboard boxes filled with your stuff you continue staring at your screen like an addict.
Then FINALLY Guts answers.

You immediately tap on the message but Guts is offline again.

Guts
Rent will be 1800$ a month. I'll be gone for most of the time. I won't clean your dishes and I'll kick you out in case you're making too much of a mess. When will you come?

You pout at his tone. As if you'd be this messy. Of course you will clean up your own stuff.
Despite this you're happy. Finally a light in your dark life. But 1.8K a month is way too expensive. At least for a long time. It will be okay for one or two months. Fortunately you saved a lot of your earnings.

You
Three days.

Guts
Ok.

As usual Guts isn't very talkative thus you shouldn't be bothered by his lack of empathy.

You quickly message Serpico to tell him that you'll be able to play next week due to having a home. Then you call a moving company to rent a van. Though small the number of cardboard boxes is too big for a simple car. Mostly because of your desk and bed.
You didn't ask Guts wether you could get the guest room. If you move in you'll move with all your things. And you don't want to live in the room of a dead person.

After booking everything you let out a sigh of relief. Although the most challenging part is still about to come you feel as if you achieved something.
You got an apartment! A very expensive apartment but it does look stunning on the other hand.

How you will cope with the costs is a matter for the future. The near future.
A friend of yours used to work at a bar and made a lot of money especially with the tips. As you're never busy at night you really should consider something like this.
First of you need to get along with Guts long enough to even pay the first rent.

You have to admit that you're a little too excited to move in with him.
He's a complete stranger. You don't even know why you would ever do something like this.

You catch yourself grinning like an idiot.
What's wrong with you?
