Kenickie's Girl

chapter 5

I went home and took a nice long nap and got ready for the diner.

I drove there all on my own which I was pretty proud of and went inside to see Sandy sitting with her jock hopefully not soon to be boyfriend. They were smiling and talking so I decided not to interrupt. I walked over to the girls sitting down and Frenchy made room for me.

I smiled and said "hi guys." They all said hi besides Rizzo but I had no intentions of speaking to her in the moment.

Suddenly I noticed the guys walk in and when Danny spotted me he walked over to our table and the guys sat around with us.

Kenickie sat between Rizzo and I and I saw Danny look at him and snicker. I said "what's so funny?" Danny said "uh nothing I'll tell you later." I rolled my eyes and aggressively opened my menu and stared at it or pretended to until the waiter came over and I had no idea what I wanted.

The waiter asked me and I said "double cheese burger with fries and a strawberry milkshake." The waiter walked away and I got up and went over to Sandy's table as I noticed her guy left for a second. I sat down and she said "we have to talk." I said "why what happened?" She said "I heard about you and Danny." I said "what do you mean I talked to him for you?" She said "I heard that you hugged him and gave him a kiss behind the bleachers maybe you just talked to him for yourself."

I said "Sandy where did you hear this from?" She said "Rizzo, she told me she saw it with her own eyes." Anger arose all over my body and I felt the redness spreading around my cheeks to my chest. I said "Sandy, that's crazy, I was talking to him to help you out, I was sticking up for how he was treating you the other night and how he should try to win you back because of how happy you both seemed when speaking of one another, if you want to believe that idiot than that's your problem." I was about to get up but she grabbed my hand and she said "Ellie I'm sorry, I don't know why I believed her."

I said "that's alright Sandy. He just gave me a hug that was all I promise I would never sabotage the one friend I have." She smiled and said "thank you."

I got up as I saw her guy coming back this way and went back to the table.

The food came out just as I did. Rizzo said "wow Ellie that's a lot of food." I said "yeah that's a lot of make up on your face too." Everyone ooed and she looked away and back at her food.

At one point Sandy got up to put on some music and Danny used that as his opportunity to talk to her. Sandy was not looking very into the conversation but she was being polite.

During some point of eating at the diner, Rizzo and Kenickie got into some fight about something I'm not sure because I was zoned out. All of a sudden Kenickie put his arm around me and said "yeah okay and how about I finish with you huh?" Rizzo got up and grabbed a milkshake and threw it in both of our faces and I scoffed and whipped off as much as I could and lunged across the table and grabbed her by her collar.

I heard Putzie yell "hoe down throw down!"

I punched Riz square in the face and she managed to smack me back. I pulled her by her collar down to the ground and literally jumped on top of her and pulled her hair and she some how managed to flip positions and punch me in the face. I pushed myself and flipped us so now I was in top again and I punched her in the face and pushed her into the floor. I got up and I said "round 2?"

She got up slowly and said "when you least expect it." I said "no it's now or never." She said "fine I surrender."

Sandy and Danny ran over to me and so did Kenickie. He said "Ellie your nose is bleeding." Sandy said "that was crazy Ellie what happened?" I said "if I'm being so honest I don't remember."

We all laughed and I said "It all started with Kenickie making some sex joke about me." He smiled and I saw a slight blush go across his cheeks. It was adorable.

I said "I don't know why she got all defensive and shit, it was just a joke." Danny said "you sure let her have it." I said "yeah no one messes with me."

Sonny said "you're more of a T Bird than one of those preppy girls than I thought you were." I said "just because I dress that way doesn't mean I'm not tough." I ruffled his hair and he laughed.

Kenickie said "she's a fighter, I wouldn't think you could be." I smirked and said "oh yeah? why is that?" He said "because you seem too pure." I said "I'm quite the opposite." He said "yeah?" The testing manner he asked me in made me a little turned on and I felt my cheeks get hot. I said "wouldn't you like to know."

He ruffled my hair and I said "let's pay and get the hell out of here please before the wicked witch re appears."
