In the morning of November 9th 1974, Cally woke up to a no different morning than others. She was still stressing about her parents divorce, what will happen when she goes home for Christmas.

The girl yawned while sitting at the table and waiting for breakfast to start. It was safe to say that she wasn't ready for the attack of packages thrown by the owls at her. Cally screamed at the sudden rain of packages. When it finally stopped and she got to look at the table, she saw the excited smiling faces of her friends.

"Happy birthday Cal! Open your gifts quick!" Sirius was the first to exclaim. Following the words of the boy, everyone started to wish her a happy birthday from many mouths. Her eyes widened at finding out the reason behind the chaos —it was her birthday. Her mind had been extremely full with her parents and classes, she had completely forgotten about her birthday.

She held back the tears in her eyes, caused by the sudden flow of emotions, and thanked everyone with a huge smile. "Yeah yeah whatever, just open the bloody gifts!" Sirius told once again with no patience. Cally laughed at the childish behavior of the boy before picking a random packaged from the table.

She carefully ripped the wrapping paper to reveal a hard cover book. It was great gatsby, one of Cally's favorite books. She was going to thank to whoever bought the book before Marlene spoke "Open the first page!"

Cally followed her blonde friends orders and flipped the cover of the book. There laid 6 tickets to the great gatsby film. Cally gasped at the sight before hugging Marlene who was right beside her tightly and turning her head to the girls talking, "Guys! I love you all so so so much thank you! I was worried I wouldn't find the chance to go thank you, thank you!"

Cally picked another gift from the stack with a genuine smile on her face. The package was flat and well wrapped. Sirius was tapping his feet excitedly, waiting for the girl to open the gift. The gift turned out to be queen and Fleetwood mac records. "Sirius, how did you know!?" Cally exclaimed. "Well, me and Wormtail thought you looked like the type to have good music taste, so we figured we'd get you two amazing records." Sirius grinned and pulled the girl into a hug.

The birthday girl was about to pick another package and open when she was stopped by the boy that was by her side. "You should open it later when you're alone." Potter boy whispered, making sure no one noticed. Cally grew flustered and impatient at the request but simply nodded in agreement.

Another package she ripped revealed another gift. There was a pot that seemed empty other than the soil and a book. One thousand magical herbs and fungi, a book about herbology it was. Remus spoke up "The pot has Bouncing bulb planted in it, you might need the book to grow it." .

"There's no way! It's so hard to plant how did you manage to do so? I'm in love, thank you so much Remus." Cally told him in awe before pulling him into a hug. The boy's cheeks burned as he hugged her back "You're welcome Cally, i'm glad you liked it."

Cally took the last box on the table and unwrapped it. She could feel her hands shaking as she recognized the box. It was the very box her father used in his tailor shop. She opened the box to reveal a silk dress and a letter. She wasn't aware she was holding her breath until she closed the box again and let out her breath.

"Who is it from?" Mary asked with a sweet voice. Cally returned the girls smile before talking "It's from home, i'll open it when i have the time to write back." she quickly shut any further questions about the gift.

"Shit, i'm gonna be late for class. I suppose you lot will clean up the mess yeah?" she smiled before leaving the great hall to not let anyone talk back.
