Being with James was everything Cally ever imagined. He made her forget all her worries. The only worry she had was zelda being mad at her like she was with Lily. So she walked on eggshells around her.
"What are you guys doing this weekend? I thought maybe we could go to hagrid's hut and wander in the forest." Zelda asked excitedly. This was exactly the scenario Cally was afraid of.
"Sure, sounds great to me." Cally said. Immediately mentally face palming herself. She had agreed on going on a picnic date with James that weekend. But she got so nervous talking about him around Zelda that she just gave in to girl's offer immeadiately.
Now she had to think of ways to fix this monstrosity. Which one was she going to ditch. Talking about James near Zelda was already stress inducing enough, now she had to also cancel a plan she agreed on. Or she could talk to James and postpone their date but she knew it would upset James, he had been talking about the date all week and how excited he was.
"I always put myself in these stupid situations." she complained to Sirius. He seemed to be an appropriate candidate to complain to at the moment. "I don't understand why it's so stressing love. You should just tell Zelda that you have a date with James. It's not like it's a secret you two are dating."
"It's easy for you to say. But I get so nervous around her when it comes to James. Because she and Lily had this fight during fall and I'm afraid if I say the wrong thing, hell even mention James around her, I'm gonna set the ticking clock off and she'll go off on me." Cally tried her best to explain.
"So what if she does? If she can't be happy for you, you shouldn't be friends with her anyways." Sirius gave his unique advice. "It's not like that. I'm the bad guy for even dating him when I know she liked him."
"You can't be seriously thinking that. It's not your fault you guys liked each other. And let me tell you it's pretty obvious you've had a crush on him way before everyone anyways." her friend told her. "Siri that's not the point. I have to make a decision and both ends of the stick is short. And I've brought this upon myself." she said with a sad face.
"Oi don't you worry. Things will sort themselves out." Sirius reassured his friend. Then a light bulb appeared on his head "I have an idea. I'll fix it for you don't worry." he said.
This only made Cally worry more. "Oh Sirius I don't know what you're plotting in that beautiful head of yours but please don't. I need to figure this out myself." she warned. But Sirius was far too gone now. He was determined to put his plan into action.
"Thanks for the compliment!" he yelled as he ran off to merlin knows where. His plan was simple: he was going to distract zelda for the weekend. As to how he was going to do that, the answer is obvious, he was going to ask her out of course!
Sirius thought that if he asked zelda out, then she would have to cancel her plans with Cally, which would take her right away to complain about Cally and James' date. It was a simple and genius plan.
"Hey there!" Sirius suddenly appeared behind the twins. Zelda jumped at the boy sneaking up on them. It was the potions class and Sirius decided to switch groups with Cally, so now she was with James, Remus and Peter while Sirius was with Zoe, Zelda, Lily and Callum.
"What are you doing here?" Lily asked. "I also take this class?" Sirius answered like it was obvious. "No, where's Cal?" she continued. "Your boyfriend's right next to you." Sirius continued teasing.
"Oh you know what I mean. Never mind, my fault for thinking that I could get a straight answer from you." Lily finally gave up.
"Alright class. Today we're finally making amortentia! Here is a pre-made one. Does anyone want to tell me what they smell?" Slughorn announced. Many girls volunteered eagerly. Soon the whole class was taking turns to get a whiff of the potion.
When it came to Lily, she said she smelled dry leaves like autumn, cinnamon bark and licorice. It fit perfectly with Callum. And Callum said he smelled new books, ink and lillies. How fitting.
Cally was nervous about what James was going to smell. What if he said something completely opposite to Cally like lavender or candy floss? She hated those things. But she still closed her eyes to make sense of the aroma when it was her turn.
It didn't smell like anything specific. It was more like a memory. It smelled like the fireplace in the Potter's house and her memories from when her and James were little. It smelled like when they would stock so much cauldron cake to eat in hogwarts express. A comforting quidditch stadium smell with a hint of grass after rain. It was all the good feelings James would make her feel.
It finally was James' turn now. He squeezed the girl's hand before taking his place at the table with a reassuring smile. It made Cally suddenly forget all her worries and literally melt.
"I smell... Flower gardens, vanilla, fresh shampoo and hot cocoa." James Potter announced. Everyone knew exactly who he was talking about. And Cally couldn't help but smile at the notes.
After everyone was finished smelling the potion, it was finally time to make it. While Cally was very happy and felt right at the place, Sirius was feeling out of place and contemplating his plan to ask Zelda out to save his friend's date.
It was very unusual for him to feel awkward, so why did he suddenly feel stressed at the thought of putting his plan to work. But he said he would do it, so now he had to.
"So, Zelda. What you doing this weekend?" he finally asked, trying his best to sound casual. "Me?" the girl was clearly not expecting the sudden question. "Yeah. Thought maybe we could visit the pumpkin patch and walk the forest, what do you say?" Sirius asked.
Zelda was confused as to why Sirius Black was asking her out. She wasn't even sure if this would even be considered asking out. But her curiosity got the better of her and she said sure before even thinking about it. Now she only had to cancel the plans she made with her friends. But this was Sirius Black, the heartthrob of Hogwarts and this opportunity would come only once in a million years and she was positive her friends would understand.

Oh my god I'm definitely on a writers block. I really wanna continue this book because I have amazing ideas but developing the story line via fillers is so hard and I'm really bad at it😭😭
On a second note it's been almost 2 years since I've published it and more than 2 years since I've started working on it I feel like I can watch my growth in the book throughout years🥹🥹🥹
