CHAPTER 24

While they were having dinner, Chaeyoung kept staring at Jisoo, this made her uncomfortable as she didn't
even dare look her way.

The dinner was eaten in silence. Min-young didn't say anything all through dinner while Mr. Park just sat
quietly at the head of the table observing all three of them.

Lisa  was furious. She didn't understand why Chaeyoung  had to come back now. She couldn't help but feel jealous at the way Chaeyoung was staring at Jisoo. She
regrets not pushing through with the wedding because she knew Chaeyoung still had feelings for Jisoo and she was sure that she would want to get back at her for being with her.

Jisoo, on the other hand was barely touching her food. She suddenly regrets coming, She had no idea Chaeyoung would be present. What was she thinking? It's Thanksgiving and she ought to be present.

She so badly wanted the dinner to end so she could go home. She tried stealing a glance at Chaeyoung and was surprised to see that she was still staring at her. She noticed Chaeyoung had lost some weight and her looked a little
pale on the skin, she wondered if she was okay.

Dinner was finally over. Lisa  and Jisoo said goodbye before leaving. When they got home, Lisa  went to place Sandra in her crib before going to meet Jisoo, who was at the balcony When she got there, she was staring at the sky, so she
joined her. Jisoo felt a presence beside her and turned to see that it was Lisa . She still couldn't believe that she stood up for her against her mom, even
when she wasn't present. That was something she had always wanted Chaeyoung to do.

"Thank you" she suddenly said.

Lisa  looked at her confused. She didn't understand what she was thanking her for.

"What for?" Lisa asked.

"For standing up for me"

Lisa  now understood what she was talking about and just chuckled.

Jisoo turned to Lisa  and hugged her. Lisa  reciprocated by holding her tightly, inhaling her scent. She didn't want to let her go, not for anyone, not even for Chaeyoung.

Lisa  had already left for work the next day. Jisoo was at home with Sandra when she heard the door bell. She didn't bother to let a maid get it since she was in the living room. She got up and went to get the door herself and was surprised by who she saw.

"Hi" Chaeyoung greeted. She wore a black shirt with black pants and her hair was in a back ponytail as always.

Jisoo was too speechless to reply, she just kept staring at her with wide eyes. She had missed seeing her. She managed to talk so she wouldn't be kept
standing.

"If. if you're here to see Lisa, she already left for work" she nervously said.

"'Im here to see you"

Jisoo felt her legs giving out when she heard that deep voice she had always been used to. She tried to control her emotions so she wouldn't see how nervous she was.

"Um, okay.. come in" she said, gesturing for Chaeyoung to Come in.

Jisoo quietly closed the door behind them when Chaeyoung walked in. She didn't know if she was ready for this. She didn't think she would want to still talk to her after how they ended and most of all after seeing her with Lisa.

"May I hold her?" Chaeyoung asked pointing at the baby in her arms.

"Huh?... Oh, yes" she replied handing the baby over to Chaeyoung's.

She watched as Chaeyoung held the baby with so much care like she didn't want anything hurting her. Sandra was
actually doing fine with her, she didn't even cry rather she was smiling at her.

Jisoo was touched by the scene before her. She had always wanted to have her baby. She wanted a family with Chaeyoung and no one else but none of those dreams came through.

While she was still staring at them, she noticed Sandra had slowly drifted to sleep, that was surprising because she had to take hours cradling her before she goes to bed. It seems she is really good with babies, she would've been a great father, Jisoo thought to herself.

"Let me take her to her room" Jisoo said wanting to take Sandra from Chaeyoung.

"Don't worry, I'll do it. Just show me to her bedroom"

"Okay" Jisoo said and led her to Sandra's room.

Chaeyoung carefully placed her in her crib and they left the room, going back to the living room.

They were now seated on the couch, no one saying anything making the silence awkward. Jisoo has never been this way with Chaeyoung before. They always
played or thought of a way to keep themselves lively when they were alone. This was different and new to both of them. They were both struggling to accept the present situation.

"Jisoo" Chaeyoung spoke up

"Mmm?"

"I'm sorry for everything you went through while we were together" Chaeyoung apologized.

Jisoo wondered why she was apologizing. She didn't do anything wrong. She was the one who actually
walked out of the relationship.

"I thought maybe, my mom was going to accept you someday, when she got tired of picking on you... I had no idea she could be told off that easily. I should've
done that a long time ago... I'm sorry Jisoo, I hope you'll forgive me someday"

Jisoo was already in tears. She should stop apologizing to her, she was making her feel more guilty than she already felt.

Chaeyoung turned to face her, placing her hand on Jisoo's cheek.

"I want you to know that I never stopped loving you. Not once did you leave my thoughts... No matter what
happens Jisoo, I will always love you" Chaeyoung confessed, wiping the tears from her cheeks before standing up.

Chaeyoung placed a kiss on her head and left.

Jisoo couldn't get any sleep that night as she sat up in bed. She couldn't believe that Chaeyoung still loves her and wasn't mad at her like she had thought. She  didn't care if she was with Lisa  or already has a baby for her. Chaeyoung still loves her.

Jisoo wasn't so sure of her relationship with Lisa  anymore. She turned to look at Lisa  who was fast asleep. She was there for her, she is the father of her
baby. She loves and protects her.

She wouldn't want to hurt her. No, she can't hurt Lisa.  She laid back in bed and tried to get some sleep.
