Four months has passed since the accident and there still hasn't been any improvement. Jisoo never left lisa's side,she stayed beside her 24 hours of everyday. Min-young also visited everyday, she was touched to see how much Jisoo cared about Lisa. She hadn't left her for one second, Min-young thought she was the only one who could care for her daughters that way but seeing this now,she was wrong.
Jisoo did care,more than she had imagined. She wasn't a bad girl after all. Min-young had tried on several occasions to convince Jisoo to go home and rest but she never did. Jisoo only went home for a change of clothes and that was when she was certain that Min-young was beside Lisa.
Mr. Park and Chaeyoung had been quite busy for the past months but they always created time to visit Lisa at the hospital. They were all gloomy,hoping and praying that one day Lisa would wake up.
After Min-young left the hospital in a hurry on the day of the accident,they had no idea what she did or said to Jennie but Jennie immediately travelled out of Korea and hasn't returned since then.
Mr. Park came to the hospital to be with Lisa. Jisoo used that opportunity to go home and freshen up,she decided to bring Sandra along with her that day so that her mom could have some time to herself. Yunjin has been the one taking care of Sandra for the past four months and Jisoo was beyond grateful that her mom was there to help her because,she doesn't know how she would've managed to stay beside Lisa and at the same time take care of Sandra if her mom wasn't there for her. She returned to the hospital with her baby and noticed that Mr. Park had already left. She sat on the chair beside Lisa's bed and stared at her lifeless body. She began to cry silently.
"Lisa please wake up" she started to say "If you won't do it for me,think about our daughter. She needs you... Lisa you need to be there to watch her take her first step,to watch her say her first word... I need you Lisa. I'm sorry we didn't reconcile soon enough to prevent all of this from happening... I love you and I don't want to lose you... You're a strong woman Lisa, please wake up"
Jisoo placed her hand on her and gently caressed it. She couldn't stop herself from crying everytime she saw Lisa. She was too good to be in this condition, she doesn't deserve to be here. The hospital wasn't for people like her.
Yunjin came to visit Lisa and also to be with her daughter for a while. She wasn't comfortable staying at home alone while her daughter and granddaughter were in the hospital,so she decided to join them in the hospital. She stayed for a few hours.
Yunjin kept wondering how Lisa got into such a fatal accident. She looked so lifeless and she felt really sorry for her and her family. She knew how they were feeling at this point,she had felt that way during her husband's illness until the time he passed away,she felt even worse when he died. She still couldn't believe that she survived that phase. She thought she would've died too,but she managed to live for her daughter because Jisoo also needed her,losing both parents would've had a terrible effect on her.
It's been eight weeks now and nothing has changed. Jisoo had gone home to freshen up one morning,she decided to spend some time with Sandra.
She was with her baby and mother in the living room when her phone rang,it was Chaeyoung. She asked her to come down to the hospital,that it was important. She gave Yunjin her baby and hurriedly left the house. She arrived at the hospital and was told that they were all waiting for her in the doctor's office. She suddenly became nervous,she wondered what had happened.
Why was she suddenly needed in the doctor's office? She hoped it was for a good reason. She got to the doctor's office and saw Mr. Park, Min-young and Chaeyoung in the office with the doctor. She became scared,there was something odd about the present atmosphere.
"Did something happen?" She quietly asked.
"Please take a seat Miss Kim " the doctor said.
Jisoo slowly took a seat,not taking her eyes away from the doctor.
The doctor looked at Mr. Park who nodded hee head like was approving something. He sighed and began
"Miss Kim from the recent test we ran on Ms. Lalisa, we found out that her brain stem is completely damaged.. meaning that presently her brain is dead... So we have decided to take her off the life support"
Jisoo couldn't believe it,she wasn't complaining. She was willing to wait for Lisa for as long as she could,she doesn't care how much was required to achieve that.
"No please. We can wait a little longer... Just a little longer" she pleaded.
"Miss Kim. The life support machine is needed for other patients because we have it in limited numbers"
Jisoo was in tears,she couldn't accept what the doctor said. Lisa was strong, she would make it.
"No please. Just a bit longer" Jisoo repeated. She felt someone's hand on her shoulder. She turned to see that it was Min-young. She was also crying.
"Jisoo. This was a tough decision we had to make. I know my baby... If she wanted to wake up, she would've done so a long time ago..." She was also sobbing as those words came out of her lips.
"My baby is gone Jisoo... Lisa is gone" she sobbed, completely breaking down.
Chaeyoung walked towards her mother to hold her as she was shaking uncontrollably. Jisoo's tears were pouring down her cheeks while she remained numb.
Seeing Min-young like this made her realize how dear Lisa was to everyone. Mr. Park buried his face in his hands while Chaeyoung held her mom who was crying into her chest.
Jisoo noticed a tear roll down her eyes. Chaeyoung was trying to be strong for her family but this was her brother they were talking about, she couldn't pretend anymore. She let her emotions come out.
The doctor led them to Lisa's room with some other doctors and two nurses. They pulled out the life support and waited to see if something would happen. They waited for six whole hours and Lisa's brain didn't wake up.
Jisoo's couldn't believe it, her fiance was really gone. She slowly walked towards her body and placed her head on her chest silently crying. Min-young was crying hysterically. This was a big blow to the whole family.
Jisoo didn't want to let go of Lisa body as the nurses tried to remove her from her body. Mr. Park walked out of the room because he couldn't watch the scene anymore. Chaeyoung managed to take Jisoo off Lisa's body so that the nurses would take her body to the morgue.
"Forgive me Lisa. Forgive me" She repeatedly said as she cried into Chaeyoung's chest She didn't want to watch as the nurses took Lisa's body away.
Jisoo wasn't in the right state of mind to drive herself home so Chaeyoung drove her to her house. She was quiet the whole time. Chaeyoung made sure she was in her bedroom before she said goodbye. Yunjin was shocked to hear that Lisa was dead. Chaeyoung had narrated to her what happened before she left. She gave her condolences and asked Chaeyoung to send her sympathy to her parents.
