"Gareth, I promise you. If you push me one more time I will stick your wand into your eye." Caelum said when he felt yet another push from his roommate who tried to get him out of bed.

It was early morning and for some reason, Gareth was eager to get up and move. He was still in his pajamas and his only priority was to wake up Caelum. Everyone around them was covering their heads with their pillows and tried to ignored the loud Gyffindor.

"Come on! Get up! Get up!" Gareth kept shouting and pushing Caelum.

"No, I'm serious, I will break something of yours. It might be your wand or your neck, depends on how you act next Weasley." Caelum's voice was quiet yet strict and he was ready to get expelled for injuring his roommates.

"Just make him shut up already!" another Gryffindor student yelled from their bed.

"Why is he so loud." says another student who had enough of Gareth shouting.

Caelum knew how they all felt since he had to deal with Gareth for the majority of the time and knew that if he didn't get up, the loud boy would destroy his lungs if it meant that Caelum would wake up. He finally sit up in his bed, wiped his eyes and loudly sighed. Gareth seemed happy that he succeded in waking up his friend and stop yelling so the other Gryffindor students could continue sleeping. They had a few more hours before their classes and they wanted nothing more than to stay in bed the entire time.

Gareth ran to the closet, quickly threw some clothes on him and ran back to Caelum who was looking at Gareth's horribly tied tie that was hanging around his neck. "This better be worth it," he mumbled to himself.

"I heard that professor Howin is going to bring Kneazles into our class today!" Gareth said with a certain sparkle in his eyes, it made him look like a toddler who saw something for the first time in their life.

Caelum didn't share his enthusiasm. "I still don't see a reason for you to wake me up. Why should I be all over the mood because of some cats?"

"And this is where you are wrong my friend. Kneazles are more than just big cats and it is quite hard to find them in the wild and they get scared pretty easily so it's not like I can find one just laying around the castle grounds!"

"I don't understand a thing you're saying right now."

Gareth pointed at the ceiling with a smile on his face. It was almost suspicous. "Their whiskers Caelum, their whiskers. I bet that's the last ingredient I need for my new potion that's currently brewing in the classroom."

"Wait, another potion? Who are you trying to kill this time?" Caelum said, not one bit surprised.

"My potions never killed anybody, sure it made a few of my fellow students throw up or spend their afternoons in the hospital wing but that's what's potion making is all about. You learn from your mistakes and I'm sure those whiskers are the right choice!"

"I doubt you learned from your mistakes and why would you brew your potion in a classroom where it's easy for the professor to find it? I don't like your potions but at least pick a less obvious spot for them."

Gareth thought about it for a second and acknowledged that a classroom might not be the right choice for his very special potion. "I'm sure I can get to it before Professor Sharp realizes!" Gareth wasn't confident in his answer but he tried hard to not show it.

Gareth was already standing in the door and had his usual smile on his face. Caelum took a deep breath and slowly moved his body towards the closet to put on his school uniform. He wiped his eyes one more time and walked past a few beds that still had some students in them. His head turned to them for a split second, wishing he could still be asleep and then together with Gareth, he left the common room.

He hated being up this early and the morning sun that was warming up his face didn't feel as nice as it looked. Caelum put his hand in front of his face to block the ray of sunshine and slowly moved towards the beasts classroom that was placed outside the castle. There was no one there yet, not even professor Howin. Gareth moved quickly past the tables and chairs and looked around like a crazy person.

"Are you sure you were right about the Kneazles Gareth?" asked Caelum who started to regret waking up.

Gareth on the other hand was wide awake and already leaning against the wooden pen with big cats. They had fluffy coats and their faces were staring right at the freckled boy who looked like he's watching his dinner. For some reason the Kneazles didn't seem too happy about Gareth's presence and all of them moved away from him when he stepped inside their pen.

Caelum put his hands in the pockets of his robe and sighed. He watched his friend chase the animals around for a few minutes without any progress. "Maybe you should give up on those whiskers, I'm sure you can find something else."

"I won't give up, look, that one seems friendly!" Gerth said, pointing his finger at a smaller cat who seemed to be friendly.

Gareth slowly moved to it. He had no idea how to get their whiskers, he didn't want to just pull them out or be harsh and he definitely didn't know any spells that would help him at this moment. Caelum knew that so he didn't even bother to tell him not to hurt the animals.

"Now I'm not gonna ask but I hope someone isn't dumb enough to annoy the Kneazles," a voice behind them said.

Gareth didn't hear them but Caelum tilted his head and saw one of his friends walking up to them. A tall girl stopped right next to the boy and looked at Gareth who now instead of getting the whiskers was petting the friendly Kneazle that seemed to like him.

"How do you handle him every single day?" asked Elise and looked at him.

Caelum sighed once again. "I don't but it's not like he notices."

"I bet you like him though, despite his annoying nature, he's not the worst. Just like us dealing with Sebastian's temper and Ivy's anger issues," the girl laughed which made Caelum chuckle a little bit too.

"Well those two just get angry, Gareth gets clingy and friendly. I don't know what's worse to be honest."

"I would pay to see them dealing with each other instead of us."

Caelum laughed. "Don't get me wrong, I know they're friends in some weird way and for god knows what reason but I'm sure they wouldn't surivive for too long without us trying to keep them away from trouble which reminds me that professor Sharp has likely found Gareth's potion by now."

"Well, if he did then I guess it's another detention for Gareth." Elise said and waved at the other Gryffindor boy who finally noticed her.
