The seats were uncomfortable, and the sun was shining right at the two students who were listening to Professor Weasley, who was standing behind her own table in the front of the class. Her arms were crossed over her chest, and she had that usual expression on her face. People liked her for being fair and actually friendly towards students, but you definitely did not want to make her mad. As a Gryffindor herself, she never backed down and had a strong sense of doing what was best for the school and for her students.

"As you surely know, Peeves informed me yesterday that two rather loud students were wandering the halls after curfew. Would you like to tell me something about that?" Professor Weasley looked at the two students sitting behind a desk in front of her.

Ivy scratched the top of her head and forced out a confused expression. She kicked Sebastian's leg under the table to let him know she wouldn't answer the question. Sebastian twitched his body, and after looking at his friend, his eyes now locked with Professor Weasley.

"Professor, you know Peeves; he likes to play games." Sebastian started, hoping he would make the situation lighter with his mischievous smile.

Ivy places her hand on her forehead and can't believe the words she is hearing. Professor Weasley seemed amused by his comment for a small moment and walked closer to their desk. Her palms were now pressed on it as she looked at them both.

"I know you two have problems following the rules, but if you want to have a chance at winning the house cup at the end of the year, I advise that you spend your night in your common room. This is your second strike from me; by the third one, I may need to contact your families, and this will have bigger consequences for the both of you."

She didn't like scaring her students like this, but she did it because she cared about their well-being and studies. Before fully turning her back on them, Professor Weasley said with a concern look on her face:

"You are bright, smart people." I don't want that to go to waste. I believe you two can become great people one day. Pay attention to your classes and try to follow our guidelines a little bit more."

Ivy couldn't help but look to the side, and she tried hard to hide that little smile on her face. She liked compliments, and even if they were small, she took them seriously. Even though she knew she would probably get into more trouble, she made sure it wouldn't cause them bigger problems. Sebastian crossed his hands on his chest, and his eyes went straight to the wall. He didn't like lectures, especially from his professors; he couldn't even handle Ominis half the time, but Ominis at least knew what kind of person Sebastian was.

"Do we have a deal?" Professor Weasley broke the silence.

The two Slytherins scoffed and nodded just to make her happy. The professor took a deep breath and looked at them for a second, knowing that she would definitely see them again in a few days, no matter her warning. She sat down behind her table and started writing something on her papers. Ivy leaned against her chair and sighed loudly. Sebastian started fidgeting with his tie that was hanging around his neck, and he was already bored.

They didn't know how long they were inside that god-forsaken classroom, but it felt like forever. For someone like Ivy, who was always running around and having fun, this was like tortue. Like if some invisible chains were keeping her here, trapped without any chance of escaping. Sebastian had similar thoughts, but he didn't mind sitting in one place; he did that constantly when he was reading his books, but he obviously didn't enjoy this room. The atmosphere was really heavy, and he did not enjoy the claustrophobic feeling he was having. He was used to the cold walls and moonlit ambiance of their common room, not this.

Ivy placed her head on the desk, and her fingertips started tapping on it. First slowly and then fast until Sebastian noticed. She raised her eyebrows and was already amused; her fingers did not stop. The sound was echoing around, and Sebastian took a deep breath, trying to ignore it.

"Stop," he whispered, and he stared her down.

Ivy shook her head and kept going, making sure Sebastian could hear it more clearly. "No."

"Ivy, stop it."

"No."

"I'm not going to repeat myself; stop it."

"But Sebastian, you just did."

Sebastian smirked and looked to the side. He bit his lip and tilted his head, clearly annoyed by now. He looked up at the ceiling and prayed to whatever god was up there, if there was one. His arm reached towards hers, and the tapping stopped. Sebastian's hand was now tightly gripping Ivy, but she did not let that stop her. She tried to get away from his grip, moving her arm from side to side but without any progress.

"Sebastian, let go, or I'll feed you to spiders!"

"Ha! As if!"

The two wrestled for a few seconds, completely ignoring Professor Weasley, who had been watching them for some time now, her quill still in her hand. She didn't do anything since she wanted to know how long this would take. Ivy used her other hand to grab Sebastian's shoulder to make him stop holding her hand, but that only resulted in both of them falling off their chairs right onto the floor.

"Let go of me, you idiot!" Ivy now yelled at him as she tried to push the boy off of her.

Sebastian was still gripping her fingers and refusing to let go. "Then stop being so annoying, god!"

"Then stop touching me, you weirdo!"

"You're the weird one!"

As their voices echoed around them, both of them looked up and stopped moving. Professor Weasley's arms were crossed on her chest once again, and with a disappointed expression, she looked down.

"I'm surprised you managed to stay put for so long. That will be 10 points from Slytherin once again for each of you."

"20 points?!" Ivy raised her voice and frowned at Sebastian, clearly blaming him for the entire situation.

Sebastian pretended to be impressed. "Wow, I'm surprised you can count that high Ivy!"

Ivy's fist was clenched together, ready to strike him, but her action was stopped almost instantly by Professor Weasley.

"Alright, that's enough; you can leave before you destroy my classroom. Please make sure this does not happen again. Leave this behavior for outside or inside your common room."

It was obvious that the professor had enough of the forever bickering Slytherins, and the biggest punishment she could think of was to let them figure it out by themselves by facing the consequences of their dumb actions. Ivy stood up and took a few steps away from Sebastian, leaving him behind.

He loved teasing her, and he also knew that none of this was taken seriously—at least he hoped so. They've known each other for almost 5 years now, so it's not like a small fight or even detention will get in their way. Ivy opened the heavy door and almost fell down when she walked straight into Devika, who was reaching for the door from the other side. You can only hear Ivy's annoyed voice aimed at the Ravenclaw girl.
