J A Y

Living alone is great,

But I do miss my family back there in my country.

All I do here is study with my roommates.

As they go out to parties and come home late, I stay at home either study or binge watch some of my favorite series.

My roommates tend to bring their boyfriends from time to time and I hate it when they're around.

They leave their clothes on the ground and they don't even wash their own dishes. Because of that, I tell myself to never get into a relationship.

"You're home early..?" Lily said

"Oh yeah. Our adviser dismissed us early." I replied

"Are you supposed to go to the library?"

"Why? It's better to study here."

"It's because uhmmm..."

I could tell from her face that her boyfriend's coming over.

"Say no more..I'm going out." I said

"Thanks, Y/n! You're the best." She said as I placed my stuff inside a bag

To be honest, I don't really like studying in the library. I feel more comfortable studying at my place.

I only come to the library when I need books for my assignments or for reading.

I scan through my notes again and again without missing a page.

I notice in the corner of my eye a guy was walking towards me.

"Seat taken?" He asked and I just shook my head

He sits down and places his things on the table.

I took a glance and noticed he was using the same books as me.

"Sorry to bother..Are you in Mr. Kim's class?"

"Yeah! Just transferred and I have to self-study some lessons."

"Oh...okay..." I said and looked down on my notes

"I have notes...if you want them?"

"Oh no! I can't..."

"It's okay..it's way more convenient than reading every chapter. Don't worry about this, I have a copy at home." I said and gave him my old notes

"Wow, you're really prepared."

"Well, I have the time for it so I took advantage of it."

"You're lucky.." he mumbles which confused me

We talked so much that we forgot to study. Me especially! I never get distracted but talking to him felt like I knew for years now. I feel so comfortable around him.

"Anyways, thank you so much by the way! I'll give it back tomorrow." He said and stands up

"No..you should keep it. You need it more." I said and he bows down as he continues to thank me

He walks out to the door as he gives me a smile before finally leaving.

Ahh!! I forgot to ask his name!

A few days after that encounter, I never got to see him again around the campus.

It's not like I'm looking for him or waiting...

I just found him interesting.

I walk down a book shelf looking for a specific book. I looked down at the list of books on the shelf and found it.
