H E E S E U N G

"We're friends, right?" I ask him

His smile turns into a slight frown. He looks away for a moment and turns back to me.

"What if I want more than that?" He replied

"Yah! Why did you come to school? Your fever is going super high!" My bestfriend, Yana, said touching my forehead

"I'm fine. It's just a fever! Nothing's gonna stop me from going to school." I said

She looks at me with disbelief and scoffs.

"I admire your love and commitment for academics but you are sick, Y/n. I'm serious! You have to go home." She said

"I told you I'm fine! No one's gonna take care of me at home anyways. I think you forgot that I live alone." I said and stood up

The next class was PE. I went to my locker and took out my uniform and Yana follows me.

"But still, your home is way more comfortable than being here." She said

I close the door of my locker and looked at her.

"School is way more comfortable than being alone at home." I said and leave her

Yana takes out her shoes from her locker and starts running to me.

"Fine. But I already warned you!" She said

During class, Coach Kim gathers us around the gymnasium and divides us into two teams.

"Let's play dodgeball." He yells

Most of the boys cheered because they knew they could take the girls down immediately since it was played as boys vs girls before.

"But I'm adding a new rule. Since no one is outnumbered, I have decided that every boy is paired up with a girl." He said and the boys complained

"Can't we play it like we did last time, Coach?" Someone asks

"No." He replied

The boys whine and the girls just laugh at them hysterically. Yana continues to worry for me while I ignore her caregiving behavior.

"So, you and you, team one!" He points to a guy and a girl

"Jungwon and the girls behind him, team two!" He continues and calls other students

"Jay and Yana.." he looks at yana

"Team 1, Y/n anddd Heeseung." He said

My body jolts up and I turn to Heeseung. Hee looks back at me and I quickly look away.

Heeseung and I are neighbors. We were close back then like we hangout at each other's place like regularly and we even do sleepovers, but that was WAY back when we were kids. I guess everything stopped when...

...Yana started liking him.

Heeseung walks towards me and smiles.
