You're in the car with your best friend, Sunghoon, heading to the Library to study for finals.
He takes a few glances at you and then back on the road. You noticed it and looked at him the second time he glanced.
You both lock eyes for a sec and you don't take your eyes off him.
"Eyes on the road, hoon." You teased and he quickly looks away
You let out a laugh and ruffled his hair. His ears started to have a tint of red and he puts his hood around his head.
"So..how's your sister?" You ask him
"Uhm..she's doing alright. I think? We're not really talking right now because she got upset over something I did.." He replied
"What did you do to upset her?" You ask him again
"It's not that important.. (*he accidentally washed her favorite white shirt together with his colored clothes*) She'll forgive me anyways." he smiled
"Oh okay.." you nod your head
He looks at you looking at your old keychain that your ex gave you and he sighs.
"Still haven't moved on yet?" He asks
"I have...I mean, He's still on my mind...but I'm trying to- I don't know!" You scratch your scalp out of frustration as he laughs
"I don't think you should have that kind of hesitation in moving on over someone who literally betrayed you for someone shorter than you." He laughs
"I know. But he was my first of everything..my first relationship, my first date, and my first...kiss. I loved him." You said
The traffic light turns to red and he stops the car to look at you.
"I understand that you feel that way but being in a relationship doesn't focus about your firsts. Yes, It's true that it can be very memorable and romantic. But it's about the commitment and the unconditional love that a person provides even if when they see you at your worst." Sunghoon says as he sees the light turn green again
"And I don't know about you, because when you talked about a little problem between you two, he told you that you overreacted and you're too sensitive." He continues
"Yeah..but I did overreact a bit.." you look out the window
"Honestly, Y/n. A relationship should be understanding and open. Your feelings are valid and you know what? You deserve the world! You're the most brave and caring person I know and I don't know why you care more about what other people think about you." He said
"Sheesh..calm down! I didn't say I was getting back with him." You said
"But I'm serious. It's time that you think about yourself more and put yourself first instead of others." He said and you both finally arrive at the Library
He parks the car and both sit there for a minute.
"Listen, I'm not scolding you or anything. I'm just looking out for you. My heart aches seeing you every time you cry because you couldn't handle your ex. Now that you've broken up, there are more people out there who would treat you better than him." He scratches the nape of his neck
"Hah! Of course I know that!" You laugh
He rolls his eyes and pats your head lightly. You look at him and smiled.
"Thanks..for this. I really need it." You said and he chuckled
"No problem." He said and you both head out of the car
He suddenly stops and looks at you.
"I left my notebook at the back. You go ahead and find a table for us." He said and you nodded
You were about to head inside the library but suddenly, someone walks out of the door and you realized it was your ex.
He looks at you wide-eyed and blinks a few times to verify if it was really you in front of him.
"Y/n.." he said
"Jaebin" You glare at him
"Uhm.." he tries to look for something
"If you don't have anything to say, you can leave." You said about to open the door
"Wait!" He stops you
You turned around to look at him, blood starting to boil. You try to calm yourself down and keep a straight face.
"I just wanna say that I'm sorry. I was wrong for hurting you. I thought that maybe we could talk for a while and clarify some things.." He said
"I'm sorry, Jae. But I have to study for finals." You said turning around again but he stops you
He holds your wrist from getting inside pulling you back out to talk to him.
"Can't you just give me a chance to talk? I can buy you a drink if you wa-" he was interrupted by Sunghoon pulling your hand away from Jaebin's
"Wha- Sunghoon!?" Jaebin looks at him and back at you
"Kim Jaebin." He said sternly
"I was just asking Y/n if s/he and I could talk for a minute-" Jaebin was about to continue but Sunghoon stops him
"Didn't you hear them, they need to study for finals. S/he's busy." Sunghoon replies
"Yeah, but it would only take a sec-"
Sunghoon suddenly intertwined his fingers with yours and looks at you.
"Babe, I forgot to tell you that you left your jacket inside the car." Sunghoon softens his tone towards you
Your eyes widened but you understood that you should play along to get away from the person you're dealing with right now.
You both look at Jaebin who was shocked and confused. You let out a smirk and cling on to Hoon's arm.
"Oh! Then we should get it then. Anyways, I have to go Jaebin. It was good seeing you again." You said and you both go back to the car leaving Jaebin behind
Both of you didn't want to stop holding each other's hand even if Jaebin was out of sight. He didn't want to let go neither did you.
You both head inside the car and you both sat there for a minute. No talking, just spacing out.
"Let's go study at a different place for now.." you said and he agreed
You look at him and he was flushed red. Your heart wouldn't stop pounding rapidly and you both avoided eye contact the whole time while studying.
