"Guess you're my partner, super fan."

Dread settled in Valerie's stomach as she turned to see Alexia stood confidently, with a large smile and hands on her hips staring down the Brit as if she was planning something evil.

The captain saw this as an opportunity to erase any ideas Valerie had of her being vulnerable to her.

"Is there such a thing as super hater?" Valerie rolled her eyes, listening to Jonatan who told the groups to start racing one another, the blonde suddenly started planning on ways to humiliate her captain as well as proving her wrong, "Are you sure you'll be okay?"

"¿Qué?" (What?)

"Well, you took a nasty fall last match, maybe you should sit this one out." Valerie winked, as the pair got ready at the start line with the rest of the team behind them.

"I won't be the one who needs to sit out..." Alexia grumbled, shaking her leg as she positioned herself on the line.

Behind the two women, Aitana watched the pair closely and narrowed her eyes, "¿Pasa algo entre ellos?" (Is there something going on between them?) to the rest of the team who nodded knowingly.

"Creen que se odian," (They think they hate each other) Patri laughed, pointing out how Valerie and Alexia stared one another down with piercing glares.

"I have no idea what you guys said, but they definitely like each other." Keira said, earning laughter from her Spanish teammates as she hadn't learnt any of the language yet, blaming it on the fact she wasn't good at picking up languages.

"I bet fifty they'll get together at the final," Lucy said jokingly, but soon the entire team butted in shouting out bids on the unknowing pair in front of them.

Now back to them.

"Can they stop talking for one second?" Alexia rolled her eyes, turning around to the rest of her team and shouting resulting in silence across the pitch.

Jonatan told them that he would count down from three, "Tres...Dos...Uno—" On one, the captain had different ideas and began to sprint to the surprise of Valerie who instantly began chasing after her in the other lane.

The head coach shook his head amusedly, watching on as the two stars of the team began competing against each other.

To Alexia's dismay, the blonde has sprinted past her at the last second and waited for her at the finish line.

"Ha! You cheated and I still won," Valerie smiled, brushing the stray hairs from her forehead back, as sweat built up on her face—the sun was beating down on her harshly, as she still hadn't adapted from England which was the land of rain and wind.

"I want a rematch," Alexia stubbornly denied the fact Valerie had won, blaming it on her leg making the Brit laugh at her captain's arrogance.

"Just admit that I'm faster."

"No."

"Admit it then I'll never talk to you again," Valerie frowned for a second as she said that, confused by the wave of sadness drowning her as she thought about never talking to Alexia again.

But, it would be because she would miss annoying her. Right?

"I don't want to," Alexia said simply and stormed off inside the building, her face red from the sun and being humiliated in front of her team mates.
