Valerie didn't expect that Alexia would bring a guest with her, as her eyes travelled to the bundle of fur cradled in the strong woman's arms. She didn't remember inviting the captain in, but before she knew it, the pair of them were planted on the sofa. The same sofa that brought back memories, Valerie couldn't decipher whether they were wanted or not.

Nala's barking covered up the awkward silence. As the Pomeranian relished in the gentle strokes of the Brit's hand, finding comfort in occupying herself rather than look in the wicked eyes of Alexia's, that pulled in Valerie whenever she would sneak a glance.

"I can't believe he's letting you stroke him, Mapi definitely didn't get the same reaction."

Valerie was surprised when Alexia started the conversation, nevertheless she welcomed it. It wasn't usual that the captain would take any notice to her—or so she thought—yet the Brit still gave Nala her undivided attention.

"Nala's smart, he can sense bad in Mapi." Valerie joked, though she hadn't yet looked at Alexia, she felt a warming comfort in knowing they could joke around now compared to the first day, when they nearly crashed into one another. More so, because of Alexia's terrible driving.

Once again, they fell into silence as if they had never talked before that, Valerie watched as Nala ran off of her lap and relocated to her owner's, the Brit opting to stare at the dog while ignoring the burning stare on the side of her face.

"Is it okay if I change?" Alexia stands up, growing frustrated that the woman's eyes had not yet looked over to her, feeling that she had done something wrong. The captain couldn't decipher the meaning behind her feelings, settling on the fact she was tired from the gym, "The bathroom?" Valerie nodded, playing with the Pomeranian who was blissfully unaware of the rising tension.

When Alexia disappeared into the bathroom, Valerie buried her head into her hands groaning slightly at her stubbornness. She believed that if she looked at the captain, that her eyes would never leave hers again.

In the moment, Valerie busied herself with watching a Spanish TV show that the Catalonian had put on when she had arrived, Paquitas Salas. The Brit had never watched Spanish shows before, fighting the urge to turn on the English subtitles knowing that the captain would tease her for it.

Almost as if she knew everything Alexia would do, before she did.

When Alexia finally comes back in a tracksuit, Valerie smiles softly at the sight of the woman who looked more than comfortable. Sighing to herself, feeling like an idiot for how she disregarded the captain.

"Is this how you treat all your guests, or just me?" The captain smirked, secretly watching as Valerie had an internal battle within herself. The tanned woman knew that it was because of her, that the Brit was conflicted. She knew because she had done the exact same thing, but Alexia was always best at concealing her emotions more.

"I'm—I'm sorry. I talked with my sister about you then invited you round, it was pretty impulsive." The British footballer ranted, eyes widening when she had admitted to speaking to Leah about the woman in front of her, slapping her hand over her mouth, "I shouldn't have said that."

"That you talk to your sister about me? I'll pretend I never heard it." Alexia winked, enjoying the way Valerie's face blushed into a deep shade of red. Whereas, the blonde was more confused as to where Alexia's confidence had appeared.

She had always known the woman to be arrogant. Confident? No. Especially in front of her. But things had changed, and so were they. Valerie almost rolled her eyes at the prospect of them being something, of course she had to get close to the one woman she swore to despise.
