"Could you be anymore obvious?" Mapi complained, standing besides her captain whose gaze was focused primarily on Valerie."Is it bad?" Alexia sighed, looking at the blonde once more before turning to Mapi, which shocked the defender as she didn't deny staring.
"One, I'm surprised you didn't deny it. Two... She's going to melt if you look any more." She joked, throwing her water bottle down onto the ground, followed by Alexia as they returned to training, "Is something going on between the two of you?"
"I don't know, we're kind of going with the flow." Alexia said without much thought, preparing herself to play a one-on-one match against the defender.
"The flow?"
"I don't know what that means either... Can you not tell anyone about this?" Alexia pleaded, as she ran past her friend and shot the ball into the back of the net to Mapi's displeasure.
"Trust me most of the team suspect you two. You're not subtle, Ale." Mapi laughed when the captain rolled her eyes but ended up chuckling as she had been told that multiple times, "When are you going to man up and ask her out?"
The question caused Alexia's mind to spiral as she had also been wondering if she should or not, mostly insecure that Valerie only wanted a casual relationship between the two of them.
It had been a long time since the pair had argued, the captain winced at the memory of when she referred to the Brit as a friend, but after the morning they had in the car when Valerie had confided in her about Emily, she felt closer to her in a way that they were connected by a web of secrets.
"What if she doesn't like me like that? I'll look like an idiot." Alexia sighed, stopping the exercise for a water break, glancing sideways at Valerie again who was laughing alongside Jenni but stopped once she saw the captain, waving with a bright smile.
Mapi came up besides Alexia and nudged her with an elbow, earning a glare.
"Does that look like someone who doesn't like you?"
Whereas on the other side of the pitch, Valerie was passing the ball back and forth with Jenni, the pair of them impressing Jonatan who was watching from afar.
"Why is our captain staring at you?" The forward grinned teasingly when she saw the blonde roll her eyes.
"Jealous of my impressive ball skills?" Valerie deadpanned, earning a grumble from the dark-haired woman who was disappointed in the Brit's denial.
"Leah was right, you are exactly like Lucy."
"You talked to my sister?" The blonde was surprised to hear this, after all Leah wasn't the most sociable person and she dreaded the thought of her sister and teammates talking about her.
"She messaged me to make sure you were okay today..." Jenni admitted, but by the confusion on her face made Valerie realise she didn't know why, "And we may have been speaking about your love life... With a certain captain."
"Jenni!"
"¿Que? You know you two should be together, I'll trap you two in a room if I have to." The dark-haired woman shook her head, then her face brightened suddenly when she thought of something, "Alexia! Come here."
Ignoring Valerie's cursing the more that the captain got closer to the pair, Jenni put her arm around Alexia's shoulder and faced her towards the blonde.
"Blondie was telling me how much she wanted to take you out tonight. What do you say, Ale?" Jenni grinned behind the captain's shoulder at Valerie, who smiled nervously in the taller woman's presence.
