Okay, so like, I don't know if I should continue this story, it's been in my drafts for like a long ass time
T-THere's like the beginning to it. Basically kind of Gods, not really Persephone and hades but Gods. Yk?
——————————————————————————He swallows thickly, the action eradicating the small lump in his throat.
He takes the final step into the terrace, all eyes shifting toward him. He was now aware of the piercing stares ripping through his soul. As if they were stripping him where he stood, trying to conclude if he's friend or foe.
Hands trembling slightly under his robes, he absentmindedly shuffled closer to Kunikida's side.
"What's wrong, kid?" He gruffs out, albeit considerably.
"Nothing, just not used to so many eyes." And he wasn't. He'd always hang around his cozy garden, surrounded by his tiger friend. Sweet smelling flowers and tender wildcats were the only company he's ever had, with mere mentions of Kunikida, Ranpo, and Fukuzawa.
He missed his flowers, their roots, the soft grass he'd walk around barefoot. The gentle tendrils sprouting about along every step he took. Blooms erupted from their buds with one delicate tap of his fingers.
"Do you wish us to cancel this?" Kunikida asks.
"No, no. It's ok." Atsushi quickly says, a practiced smile stretching easily onto his face. He strides forward, trying to not peer up at the piercing stares. He fiddles with the hem of his sleeve, trying to calm the erratic beating of his heart.
Looking back at the distant memory of his and Fukuzawa's discussion, Atsushi realized how his guardian's voice had been grave, face creased with worry.
~
"Are you absolutely certain of your choice? You do know you are not entitled to agree." The god of mountains and wind stated, hand resting atop Atsushi's shoulder, it's heat reliving tension where it lays.
"I am sure of my decision, Fukuzawa. You don't need to worry about me." Atsushi declares, face full of determination that couldn't be diminished.
"Alright then. Two days from now, you will meet the god of life."
~
A pair of sandaled feet stop short in front of his ground vision, promptly making him lift his head only to meet golden eyes. The freckled face peers up at him, eyes brimming with delight.
"You must be the god of nature! Hello! Nice to meet you, I am the god of harvest and farming, you can call me Kenji though!" The excited god chippers, hand extending to capture Atsushi's own in a firm and unrelenting handshake.
"Good evening, Kenji. Nice to meet you too!" Atsushi smiles with just as much enthusiasm. He can feel the faint twinges of jealousy making its way into his system. How a god, younger than himself, could have met the higher ups earlier than he? Not trying to send off any malevolent intent, he suppresses the urge to ask outright.
"I've heard the news about your collaboration with the god of life! I hope you guys fulfill your duty with ease!" Kenji smiles brightly, almost blinding Atsushi with the glow.
"Thank you for your well wishes. I promise I will fulfill my duties remarkbly." The god of nature spoke highly, liking the authority in his voice for a spare moment.
"Your nature always helps my crops! I'm really grateful for that! Please continue to help me upon my duties as well!" Kenji continues cheerfully, smile still wide on his face.
