When someone's heart breaks so does a piece of land, creating valleys, trenches and even miniature cracks in the pavement...

"Tell me the story of the Grand Canyon."

.

He was cursed. Seeing the light die out from his lover was the most difficult thing ever. His beautiful lover had reached out to him, one final time. The moment his cracked smile shone, he knew it was over. His lover, gently...weakly, caresses his face.

"Smile for me...one last time.."

He smiles, ignoring the tears tracking down his face, fighting away the frown that pulls at his lips. He strengthens his composure and smiles, his lover is pleased. The finger swipes at his upturned lips, ever so softly, he thought he imagined it. The smile was kept permanent on his face, his heart cracking just slightly.

His lover's body finally stops it's trembling, the hand falls on the blood stained grass, unmoving. He didn't need another sign to know his lover was gone, slipped from his grasp, never to return to him again. His smile slips, his heart aches, the swirling of emotions to strong.

Letting out his screams of agony, he cradled his lovers body to his chest, not once letting his hold loosen. Trying desperately to call out to any God who could hear him; Bring Him Back

Somewhere far, a piece of land breaks.

.

He's reborn. No memories of his past except for the never ending pain in his chest. It confused him, there wasn't anything wrong with him so why did he have such an ache?

It didn't matter, this dull throb was nothing compared to the torment he endured in the orphanage. Their words rung in his ears. Believing them, storing them into his brain, repeating them to himself every night as he wept.

His heart cracks and so does the cliff's edge.

.

He could see it, in the depths of those brown mahogany eyes; pity.

The kiss was nothing but a brush of lips, nothing that satiated his tainted heart. There was no love in that graze, Dazai didn't even give his face a second glance until he was out of sight.

Unwanted, once more, by the one I love most. He couldn't explain the feeling for the life of him, but within him grew a sort of emptiness, a hole that would never fill.

A nagging feeling that he's felt this heartbreak before. He ignored it, thinking it was just his invasive thoughts and sadness taking it's toll on him. Dismissed by the person he loves most, hurt most of all, standing there he could feel the prickle of tears forming. He let them fall, he was too numb to care, the wind swept his hair to the side. The sun's rays casted a ethereal glow on his face, causing his tears to glisten.

Land broke.

.

Exiting from the bedroom, his thoughts drifting, body ablaze, his pleasures quelled. He faces Atsushi.

The teen smiles, a sweet and kind smile that shouldn't be directed at him. He could tell, Atsushi did not bear no ill will.

Dazai felt nothing.

.

"Atsushi?"
