You'll never know dear, how much I love you

Come back...

Please!

Three Days Earlier

"Get the lions!" I hear a commander shout and point its scythe towards us.

The other paladins are wounded, sluggish in their drained ships. "Lance you have to get out of the line of fire!" Pidge groans into our headset, the speakers make my head ring. There's what feels like a wall of soldiers closing in, surrounding the team. "I'll take as many as I can down but I'll need backup. Hunk? Keith? Can you help?" My throat feels dry, it doesn't help with the sandy environment.

I feel a hand on my shoulder and it calms the the pit in my stomach a little more. "I've got your back, Blue." His raspy voice echoes in the horribly loud speakers. I turn my head and meet the gaze of my rival, the spirit that continues to push me forward.

"I-I'm hurt bad guys-" Hunk's words come out in short bursts, "Allura we need an evac! Now!"
Pidge's voice cracks as they come up beside me. "We'll hold them off long enough for you to get here but make it snappy." Shiro limps into our line, bearing his glowing arm.

The onslaught starts trickling to us, first one by one. Lasers, swords, flying appendages, we work through it. "We're breaking through the atmosphere with some friends. Paladins go to the lions!" Coran's screech blares into my skull. "Pidge get to your lion. We'll cover you. Keith orders them, hesitantly they start to back off. "Shiro you too. I need you to get hunk to a healing pod!" I shout, the middle-aged man seems taken aback. I fire shots and notice him slowly backing off as well.

"Now you Lance." The raven tells me, never hesitating. I give him an eye roll and shoot the bot coming from the side.

"You think I'd let you best me? Claim the glory of saving them for yourself?" I remark and give a smile.
"Allura, Coran. Pick them up, we'll surrender but you have to move faster than you are!"

"Thats suicide! You both have to back off now!" Pidge cries into their headset. The warriors and beasts keep growing in size as we break the waves.

"If you don't leave, then all of Voltron can be captured. The universe will be enslaved, think of the millions of beings that we have saved. Keep it that way." The beam from the castle comes down immediately, gathering our family. My bayard disappears in my suit, and Keith's does the same. His hands are in the air first, but I make sure to keep my eyes on the castle.

We're cuffed and placed on our knees in front of the Galra soldiers. Their yellow eyes stay on us as they hail their swarm of ships. "We've captured two of the paladins of Voltron sire, shipping them to a prison soon."

I stopped longing for the comfort of our home for a while, but now I miss it more than ever. Keith nudges me, "they'll come back. We just have to give them time." One of our captors hold a blade to my neck, "where are they headed Red? Unless you want this one to spill it's blood in-front of you."
They kick him in front of me, his face smashed into the sand.

I shake my head slowly and let out a shaggy breath. The fear in his visible eye throws me off, we've trained for this. In every scenario we have endured, he's always been cool.

"Speak!" The cool blade digs into my skin and I hiss and try to pull away. "Th- they're heading to the other side of the galaxy, far away from here! They're not stupid enough to return either. Go ahead and kill us, you'll only make Voltron more strong." I croak out, my voice barely audible over the landing crafts.
