Mission Impossible

Traumaaaaaa- S

"Get back to your lions and meet up back at the castle!" Shiro commands through their intercoms, directing them from the ship. "The castle is under fire, we'll hold them off for as long as we can!"  The scratchy voices are what wake Keith. His arm is strung above his head, wires dig into his armor and cut into his flesh. His ears ring and his eyes are blurred with red. The world is covered in a thick haze, lightly muting every one of his senses. If he didn't know better, Keith would say they're under water.

Silver and purple fill his blurry gaze as he tries to assess his options. Suffocatingly the harsh chords are wrapped around his entire body, and he's dangling in the low light. Just as he feels he can take a deep breath, there's a rough pull. It dares to split open his entire being and display every single bit of him to his so called teammate. Whom he was assigned to go on this mission with, just because they work well together occasionally. It sucks all of the air out of him and leaves him gasping against the wires.

"Keith!? Keith- are- you're- buddy are you okay?" A ramble of words come before the onslaught of pain, each rough movement making his head spin. Keith can't stop the low whine that comes out of him. A howl of pain, sobs echo after it as if he were drunk. Acid creeps up his throat, choking his shallow breaths.

"Guys... we're in a pickle here. We can't get back to our lions." Breathless words sound through his helmet. The wire tightens around him more and for the first time his haze lifts. The arm suspended in air let's go a sickening crack and white flashes in his eyes. It's a nice break from the grey.

"...the for me. Yeah- mullet you're doing good- I just gotta get over you..." the voice that echoed from below is so much closer. His face can't help but scrunch, ready for a quip but only wheezes come from him.

He forces himsef to look down, now matter how hard it makes his eyes water and his throat close. Dangling below him is a tan man in bright blue armor, his blue eyes are such a bright contrast. They're filled with tears and his eyelashes cling together. Lance's visor is cracked but he doesn't have but a drop of blood daring to fall from his lips.

Keith watches as Lance's hand reaches up and he pulls himself ever closer, his arm twists further and his throat begins to close once again. There's a wretched cry and he's sure it comes from him, it's disgustingly pitiful. "I- I stopped- o- okay? I'm not moving anymore Red." The painful pull lessens and the fire roaring above him comes back to him. His and his fellow paladin's weight makes his arm sob for relief as the chords around his midsection begin to do the same.

"Yeah- yeah... he's... oh- fuck." His vision turns cloudy once more, as they begin to ascend into the flames. Both of them had just came running, hopefully toward an exit when they came to a turbine. The shaft drops down more than a hundred feet and it seems Keith's jet packs are just as damaged as his.

A shattered holo map dances erratically on his broken visor, showing the two red and blue insignias, with more than ten purple dots looming above them. Yellow seems to be pushing their way here, but every time his dazed purple eyes seem to land on it the holo screen continues its rhythmless dance.

They've been doing this for what, two? Deca-Pheobs now, Keith thinks he should be able to focus but he can't. The flames scream overhead as Lance breathes out panicked words, not daring to move himself further than right under Keith's knee.

The blood wrenching man can't help but gawk at how calm, and focused his counterpart is. How panic is clearly rushing to battle with his steady gaze. "I- I think h- he- no Keith's breathing." For a moment those water like orbs stare past the hologram, and bore up into Keith's own soul. If he had the energy, he'd definitely retort about his wet gasps but the slime is begging to suffocate him.
