When you and jj broke up months ago, but you both still love eachother and you never got rid of his stuff bc of the pain, especially the necklace, then your friends press you about and he sees you take it off for the first time since getting it
Warnings: fighting, yellingAmelia
It was a normal day, everyone was about to hop onto the pogues boat. Today was going to be a great day, everyone was just waiting for jj, who was definitely taking his sweet old time."Everyone got everything?" Lia asked, it being her first time back on the boat since everything went down with her and jj. Everything was good between them now, after their messy breakup.
"Yep, we got everything, just jj and the beers were waiting on." Kie told the group, fixing the last minute adjustments. They all sat down together at the tip of the boat, John b stayed at the wheel though.
Amelia leaned against the railing of John B's boat, the gentle sway of the water mirroring the tumult in her heart. Sunlight sparkled on the waves, but the warmth felt distant as she absentmindedly twirled the silver necklace around her fingers. JJ had given it to her during a perfect summer evening, a moment now etched in her memory with both sweetness and pain.
"Are you seriously still holding onto that?" Kiara's voice broke through her thoughts, laced with concern. Amelia glanced at her friends, who had gathered for a day of fun, oblivious to the heaviness she carried.
"It's just... a necklace," Amelia replied, trying to sound nonchalant.
"A necklace? Amelia, it's JJ's necklace," Pope chimed in, his brows furrowed. "You need to let go of that chapter."
John B leaned against the boat's edge, crossing his arms. "Yeah, we get it. You're still in love with him. But this isn't helping."
Amelia's heart raced. "I'm not just going to throw it away! It's a part of who I am. The memories mean something to me."
"Memories can be toxic if they keep you from moving on," Sarah said gently, her eyes filled with understanding.
Just then, the sound of footsteps approached. Amelia's heart skipped; it was JJ. She hadn't seen him since their breakup, and though she missed him terribly, the thought of facing him felt like standing on the edge of a cliff.
"Got the beers!" JJ announced, stepping onto the boat with a grin, but his smile faded as he spotted Amelia.
"Hey," she managed, her voice barely a whisper.
"Hey." He looked down at the cooler, the moment heavy with unspoken words.
As everyone else reached for the drinks, JJ's eyes flicked to the necklace. Amelia felt her pulse quicken, the weight of their shared history pressing down on her.
"You guys want to play a game?" John B suggested, trying to lighten the mood. "How about truth or dare?"
"Fine, I dare you to jump in the water!" Kiara laughed, nudging John B.
The game began, laughter echoing across the boat, but Amelia felt a growing tension between her and JJ. She could sense him watching her every move, and the necklace seemed to weigh heavier than ever.
