When your new to the outer banks and you quickly befriend kiara who asks if you want to join her and Sarah surfing
Warnings noneAmelia
Amelia stood on the deck of the charming beach house she had rented for the summer, the salty breeze tousling her hair. After moving to the Outer Banks for a fresh start, she was eager to immerse herself in the local culture and make new friends. Today was her chance to do just that. Kiara had invited her to join a group at the beach, and Amelia couldn't resist the opportunity to explore. As she made her way to the shore, the sound of laughter and splashing waves welcomed her. She spotted Kiara, Sarah Cameron, and a few others setting up for a day of sun and fun. Amelia felt a mix of excitement and nerves; she had heard about Sarah's reputation as the quintessential Kook—glamorous and popular—but also passionate and fiercely loyal.
"Amelia! You made it!" Kiara called out, waving her over.
"Hey! Thanks for inviting me," Amelia replied, her smile genuine as she approached the group.
"Come on, we're just getting started!" Sarah chimed in, her blonde hair shimmering in the sunlight. "Grab a drink and let's hit the water!"
As the group settled in, Amelia felt the warmth of their camaraderie. They joked and teased each other, and Amelia was quickly drawn into their playful banter. Sarah, in particular, was welcoming and friendly, putting her at ease.
"Are you ready to surf?" Sarah asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "It's one of my favorite things to do here!"
"I've always wanted to learn," Amelia admitted, her heart racing at the thought. "But I've never tried."
"Then today's your day! We'll teach you," Sarah said confidently, handing Amelia a surfboard.
With a mix of nervousness and excitement, Amelia waded into the waves with Sarah and Kiara. They took turns helping her catch small waves, laughter echoing around them as they stumbled and fell into the water.
"You've got this!" Sarah cheered, her encouragement ringing out as Amelia paddled out again. Each time she tried, she felt a little more confident, a little more at home.
After a few hours of practice, Amelia managed to ride her first wave, exhilaration flooding through her as she whooped with joy. When she returned to shore, Sarah was there, grinning from ear to ear. "I knew you could do it!"
"Thanks for all the help!" Amelia beamed, feeling a sense of belonging she hadn't anticipated.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden hue over the beach, the group settled around a bonfire. They roasted marshmallows, shared stories, and the atmosphere was electric with laughter and warmth. Amelia felt like she was part of something special.
"Tell us more about yourself, Amelia!" Kiara encouraged, her eyes sparkling.
Amelia took a breath, feeling a mix of excitement and vulnerability. "Well, I've always loved the ocean. I came here to escape a bit of chaos in my life and focus on what really matters to me—art and the environment."
"Art? That's awesome! What kind?" Sarah asked, genuinely interested.
"I paint landscapes, mostly. The ocean inspires me," Amelia replied, her passion shining through.
