A/N: Takes place during the alien musical apocalypse and they are currently at Hidgens'. ENJOY!!!! :p this one is long btw
(There is going to be a small smut joke in here btw)
Emma's POV
The first week at Hidgens' place was a nightmare. That tall, lanky guy Ted I think this is just a complete asshole. He talks about women like we are fucking objects. Has he ever been love? I haven't but at least respect them god. Bill is a great guy. I can tell he gets worried easily. That is something you rarely see in someone. Charlotte is... hard to describe. I feel bad for her having to see her husband get controlled by one of the musical aliens. Seeing her face broke me. I do best by observing. Also seeing her grip on to Paul broke me even more. She really was truly in love with that cop guy, Sam I think his name was. Who cares, he was a douche. Speaking Paul, the regular guy who orders a black coffee everyday at Beanies. Kinda concerns but he can do him. He's protective. He held Charlotte close when she was scared. A good quality you don't see in men nowadays. Paul looks like those typical white guys and he is, however there is something about him that really caught my eye. He doesn't like musicals. Most of Hatchetfield loves musicals and worships it. Paul isn't like that. It is weird to me but also comforting. Even though I was in Brigadoon in high school and was kind of a theater kid then, I also really don't like musicals. This whole music apocalypse has changed my perspective on musical theater forever.
"Emma can I tell you something?" Charlotte came up to me and knocked me out of my thoughts.
"Sure anything." I replied drinking out of my glass of water.
"What do you do when you're truly in love with someone. It is a weird question, sorry." She apologizes.
"Don't apologize. I really don't know actually. I've never been truly in love with someone. Wait- what about your husband, that weird ass cop?" I ask.
"He is probably long gone by now. Its about Ted." When that name came out of her mouth I tried not to choke on my water and I didn't. If she is 'truly' in love with him she can go for it. Her man, not mine.
"I say just go for it. We are in the middle of a apocalypse." I stated taking another safe sip out of my water.
She smiles at me and heading off to Ted and Paul's shared room. Thank god Hidgens made me my own room. I always came to his place and I still do. I never felt safe in my own home with my family so I would call Hidgens if I can come over. He is the dad I never got to have growing up. Yeah he is some crazy scientist who knew about this alien musical thing but he treated me like I was his own daughter. He knows me more than anyone in the world.
"You've been drinking out of the same glass for awhile Emma." I heard a familiar voice coming beside me. It was Paul laughing.
"Well because I am a slow drinker Paul Mathews. What brings you here to this kitchen island?" I ask leaning my body on the kitchen counter.
"I don't want to talk to anyone else here besides you. You're the only one who is actually normal." Paul jokes also leaning in with me.
I laugh taking another small sip of my water. Jesus Christ he is right I have been drinking out of the same glass.
"Do you know what is going on between with Ted and Charlotte?" He asks turning his head over to me. I look back answering.
"Charlotte has romantic feelings for that douche. Its fucking weird." I state.
"Yeah tell me about it."
We stood there leaning on the kitchen counter just enjoying the silence. We're gonna be in here for awhile. Hidgens has food storage, weapons, drinks, everything needed for an apocalypse. Kinda concerns me how he predicted this but at least we are safe.
