A/N: Paul's protective over Emma, enjoy :D

Paul's POV

I never liked parties. The idea of music playing loudly, drinks, people dancing just makes me uncomfortable. What makes it worse is that our floor of CCRP is having one at Bill's house. I didn't want to go. The party is just some get together. Bill knew about Emma and I so he invited her too. Words I said were "I'll go if she goes." Yea it was rude but it's a party for crying out loud. That day I asked Emma if she wanted to go and she said sure. That declares my answer, I am going.

"Hey Paul, you're actually here? Damn a new Paul introduced. Here come get a drink with me bud!" He yells over the music.

"No thanks. I'm good!" I exclaim.

"It won't bite ya!! Just try!!"

Not going to lie, I really don't like Ted. The way he talks about women, treats his coworkers, anything else just disgusts me. If he knew about Emma he would probably flirt with her. He'd probably flirt with her anyways.

"You're fucking boring Paul." He says as he walks off into the crowd of people dancing.

I didn't care what he said about me, I needed to go look for Emma.
I head into the crowd pushing past people here and there and looking everywhere. She is short so this might a little hard which scares me. What if she is looking for me? The thought of her scared and looking for me runs through my brain.

"Hey have you seen a slightly small, hair is slightly long, and- sweatpants and a black top? Her names Emma, Emma Perkins!?" I ask some stranger.

"Sorry I don't know who she is! Want me to help?!" The man asks as he dances with his partner.

"No it's okay!! Thank you though!!"

The guy holds up thumbs up at as he continues to dance with his boyfriend.

I continue look for Emma. I just couldn't find her anywhere. Where did she go! Oh my god she's gone! Worry spikes through the roof. I try to get out of the crowd but it feels like I'm being closed in. I never liked being aggressive to people but it's for serious matters so screw it. I push these random out the way and apologize right after. They looked slightly mad but it seems like they rubbed it off. I go over to the bathroom to call Em, but guess who I find. Ted with Emma.

"Jesus Christ dude!! How many times did I tell you no! God you're a freak!"

"Hey short stuff you say that and-"

"Shut up!! You're doing nothing but being a fucking jack ass! Just leave me alone!!"

I see Emma try to walk off the opposite direction of me. My hands were turning into fists.

"You don't gotta walk away~" He slurs as he lays a hand on her hip

That's it.

"She said leave her alone Ted. You know if you really wanted a girl maybe treat her right and then ask." I demand pulling Ted away from Em.

"Paul-" He tries to get closer to her but before he managed to take one step ahead I pushed him into the wall.

"Lay a hand on her and you won't be seen at work again. You understand?" I ask holding him up by his collar.

"She's just confused-"

"Do. You. Understand?" I held him tighter. My body felt tense and wanted throw a fist to his face.

"Fine I do. You're boring you know that?" He drops and he walks off to the crowd again.

I look to make sure he walks off. His breathe was filled with beer and I can just smell junk from him. I turn around see Emma.

"Hey you okay? He's one of my coworkers and I genuinely hate him."

"I'm okay it's just- thank you Paul for that. He said some weird shit to me and I don't like that. It made me so uncomfortable."

"He won't do that again. Not in my sight. If he sees you and does that call me immediately. Im so sorry sweetheart, here let's go home I never wanted to go to this party anyways."

"But you agreed to-"

I cut her off.

"I only wanted to go cause you said 'sure' when I asked so when you said you would go that means I'm gonna go."

"God I love you so much." Emma states pulling me down by my tie. Our lips meet. I held her waist and as her hands make their to my neck. I pull away.

"Let's finish this when we get home." I say grabbing her hand.

"Or in the car..." I turn my head around to face her, she winks.

"Yea we're gonna do that instead."
