"Starburst" Sonic The Hedgehog Au

An Electrifying Entrance

Sonic was running through the snow, snow powder getting kicked up behind him as he zigged and zagged through the forest deeper and deeper into the northern woods. His breath was visible from the frostbitten air yet the chill from the environment did not discourage Sonic from proceeding further into the woods. The air tried to bite at sonics quills and face but did nothing to the blue blur. For his body radiated heat that was stored internally.

 His cheeks rosey due to his body being slightly elevated in temperature to balance out the bitter cold trying to harm his body. Skidding to a stop the powdered snow that was kicked up fell to the ground once more and as the snowflakes fell onto the hedgehog's quills they turned to small droplets and rolled off the hedgehog and onto the snow below. Sonic stood there looking down at his wrist waiting, he was rendezvousing with Shadow.

Shadow and Tails had worked together briefly to figure out why Eggman was so deep into the snow-tipped northern woods. Sonic rolled his shoulders and hopped back and forth between his left and right foot, his jittery energy leaving him to keep himself at a stable level as he waits for shadow. Sonic soon perked his ears and smiled.

He could feel the static electricity in the air change showing that shadow was indeed coming. As shadow approached the air grew more energized with electricity. And soon the two hedgehogs were face to face.

Sonic smiled widely raising a hand out to request a high-five." Hey-Hey-Hey~ it's the man of the hour- what took you so long - did you-"

Shadow cut him off with a wrinkled nose and an irritated tone in his voice. " Don't patronize me. Unlike you, I don't need to always be on the move to be stable..."

Sonic pulled his hand back in an over-the-top gasp and placed the free hand on his heart. " Gasp- Shadow! Words hurt- just cuz you seem to generate Bitter energy doesn't mean I want that-" he spoke his expression quickly changing to a playful expression with a grin.

 Shadow sighed as he flattened his ears. " Whatever- did the fox update you on what we think it's going on.. or did you yet again not pay attention and need a refresher.."

" awwww shadow you know me so well-" Sonic playful said before snickering and stretching his legs out one leg at a time. " Yeah I remember a few things but kinda hard to remember every little detail. Honestly -"

Sonic paused as he leaned back and cracked his back sighing as he closed his eyes. " The fact you two even took the time to work together is a miracle in itself. " He parted one eye with a grin. " Is it because you missed me and just couldn't stand to be on your lonesome anymore~?"

  Sonic yet again playfully teased the dark hedgehog only to be met with a neutral expression from them. Shadow sighed slowly and rubbed the bridge of his nose. " Unlike you- I know when it may be important to get multiple views on a situation instead of running in head first..." Sonic crossed his arms as he opened his eyes fully quickly retorting back to them.

" Fair enough I can admit that- but it seems you can't admit that you want to work with me, it's okay shadow you know I don't bite-" he grinned happily.

Shadow twitched his ear and balled his hand into a fist. "You're only here to cause a distraction so I can go and infiltrate Eggman's base... You are nothing more than cannon fodder for me."

 Sonic raised a brow as he uncurled his arms and let them fall to his side. " So I'm here to just break stuff and cause havoc? If I remember right tails said something about both of us working together." He seemed to perk his ears up and seemed to grin.

 Shadow narrowed his eyes with almost a scoff " Of course, that's the one thing you actually choose to remember from the fox huh- "

 Sonic flicked his ear and seemed to let out a small puff. " See I listen- and how many times do I gotta tell you, It's Tails. Stop calling him that." He spoke his tone sounding more hurt and serious at Shadow's disregard of Sonic's best buddy tails.

Shadow only quietly sighed before looking ahead. " Let's go, the longer we leave Eggman alone the more serious this could get."

Sonic side-eyed Shadow for a moment, frowning slightly as Shadow chose to not apologize for the previous statement. Sonic nods quietly as he flattened his ears and rolled his shoulders.

  "Let's do it." He mumbled under his breath before sonic took off, shadow leading the way as the two kicked up that powdered snow behind them in the process.

Sonic and Shadow ripped through the snowy woods as the smell of chemicals violently attacked their senses.

Shadow looks over his shoulder as he was sliding down a small snow drift. " We're close, lay low, we don't need to be spotted yet." He spoke in a serious tone, as Sonic hopped down and landed in a nearby snowdrift, sonic popped his head out from the snow and shook his head, and climbed out.

" You got it! What's the plan Shad's" shadow twitched his ear at sonics nickname and huffed quietly. "..once we get closer to the entrance I will need you to let loose, "

Sonic perks his ears and quickly retorts back. " Wait what?- just like that? Aren't we like trying to hide?"

 Shadow quickly interrupts Sonic as he approached the hedgehog. " If you go and use the energy your body naturally produces outwardly, you will draw all the guards away from where I'll be.."

 Sonic nodded with a smile. " Ahhh I see what's happening here, clever-clever, I cause a big enough explosion from said energy and short circuit nearby electrical equipment due to my body creating an excessive amount of electricity egghead will have to take it as a full-front attack on my part. He will be too distracted to look for you. "

Shadow nods quietly. " Yes, I'm glad you actually understand where I am coming from...now remember that plan alright. Just don't be dumb and expose yourself to more electricity from THEM or else you'll regret it when your body tries to absorb that energy..."

 Sonic nods smiling. " And how will I know we are in the clear?"

Shadow raised a brow looking over to the blue hedgehog that stood near him " When all power is cut or there's an internal explosion... Other than that you fight until I say otherwise... You better got a lot of energy stored, you're gonna need it."

 Sonic threw his head back and gave a loud " HA!" As he slapped his hands together as he looked at Shadow now chuckling. "You're asking me that?!" As he pulled his hands away a small arch of electricity formed between his two hands, soon breaking as his hands were too far away for the electricity to arch. " I got more than enough."

 Shadow only gave a small nod and a slight smile before it once again fell. "... Good, don't get cocky, I don't want you losing control and me having to come in to save you from yourself."

Sonic quietly nodded as he walked over to Shadow. " It won't happen again I promise, I have control of my body now I've been making sure to watch my energy levels... Tails has been helping keep track...you have my word, I'll make sure I do my part, let's go, I'm itching to crack some robo-eggs skulls today."

Shadow nods as he flattened his ears as the two hedgehogs now walked to their destination, making sure to not disturb much of the natural wildlife that resides in the forest. Sonic, however, being unable to control it, was melting the snow all around him where he stood. This is due to the fact Sonic stores so much electric energy it heats the air around him as well as drastically heats his body as well.

Shadow, knowing this would be a problem for sneaking close enough to the base picked up Sonic and carried him over his shoulder, and continued to walk, now no snow was being melted by Sonic's passive heat. Sonic however was laughing at the predicament Shadow was in having to carry him to avoid detection.

After a mile or so of this walk sonic cooed to shadow mockingly. " Geez... usually you should do this after the first dinner at least Shad's" Shadow inhaled sharply and Sonic's statement and threw Sonic harshly in the snow whipping him into the ground.

" We're here." He said in an irritated tone before walking off.

Sonic mid him being whipped into the snow made a small yelp as he did so, however, he quickly sat up and looked over at Shadow. " Oh! We are?" He spoke as he slowly got up and trotted over to the black hedgehog and smiled.

 Shadow only side glanced at him before he waves Sonic away from him, sonic taking the hint nods and approached the large metal doors protecting the internal base. Sonic stood there as he looked up and balled his hands into fists. Eggmans Base... Let's see what's going on behind these metal doors.
