Sonic kept a hand on Tails' back as he walked with him back deeper into the workshop away from the front door. Tails seemed a bit more at ease as he quickly was comforted in regards to Sonic not being mad at him. Sonic was also quite thankful that things seemed to be working out in the end.

Sonic looked to Shadow as he saw the dark hedgehog putting the rest of the food away. Sonic looked to Tails and he placed his hands on his own hips.

" Whelp! After being dang near mobbed I'm hungry! How about you buddy?" He asked cocking his head to the side.

Tails seemed to chuckle happy to see his friend in better spirits. " I'm totally starved-" he jokingly chimed back as he gently pushed Sonic's shoulder grinning.

Sonic snickered as he shooed Tails away waving his hand. " Psh- go sit down then! I'll whip up something quick. Can't let you go hungry now can I." He chuckled as he walked over to Shadow.

Shadow stopped what he was doing and raised a brow. Before Shadow asked Sonic what he wanted Sonic held his hand out to Shadow.

Shadow looked at Sonic's hand confused and frowned. "..what?"

Sonic reached for Shadow's hand and grasped it " thanks for being there through it all Shadow. "

Shadow seemed to blink a few times confused. " I'm sorry?" He stated confused at what Sonic was referring to.

Sonic sighed as he relaxed his shoulders. " you know, all of it.. the hospital, staying here. It meant a lot to me. More than you really probably think. I just wanted to show gratitude. "

Shadow looked at Sonic's hand as it held his own. Shadow squeezed Sonic's hand and gently shook it. He closed his eyes and gave a small scoff. " if it wasn't for me you'd probably be dead."

Sonic awkwardly chuckled as they shook hands. " I don't doubt it, but I've saved you a few times too so let's just say our score is pretty tied up in that regard."

Sonic smiled as Shadow nodded agreeing. Sonic's smile faded as he let out a small sigh. Sonic seemed a bit tense for a second. Shadow tried to pull his hand away when he suddenly felt Sonic pull him close. Sonic wrapped his arms around Shadow tightly.

this caused the dark hedgehog's body to stiffen as he grunted from the unexpected hug. "Mph! What the-" Shadow looked at him and Shadow saw Sonic seemed to hide his face.

Shadow paused and looked over at Tails confused about what Sonic was doing. Tails sitting at the table shrugged his shoulders quietly.

Shadow frowned as he looked back at Sonic. Before Shadow was going to ask Sonic to let go of him. Sonic already was losing his grip and leaning back.

Sonic sighed slowly. " sorry I just... a handshake didn't feel like enough to show how thankful I am."

Shadow seemed to twitch his ear and his sharper gaze seemed to soften. He took a step back as he crossed his arms. " I see, don't do that again. "

Sonic looked to Shadow and nodded and spoke in an apologetic tone" ah, I'll keep it in mind Shadow. "

Shadow walked out of the main kitchen and sat down on the table across from Tails, he pulled his phone out and messaged Rouge. Sonic was making something simple, a few different snacks and quick easy meals.

The snack Tails and Sonic always shared besides chilly dogs was something simple but sweet. A toasted PB and J sandwich with honey in the center. As well as some basic everyday snacks. Sonic set down a plate for Tails and set down his own. He looked over at Shadow noticing he was staring at him.
