Chapter 22: Ultimate vs Super Saiyan

-Time Patroller Battlefield-

Ruby and Aqua marvelled at the size of the battlefield. It was so big. Ai looked around and saw some people with green skin or a tail hanging behind their backs. Some humans and scary-looking aliens were sitting on the spectator bench. The idol and her kids were afraid at first, but Chronoa assured them that these people are Time Patrollers as well, whose task is to protect history. So, they are all good people.

They all settled down as Kai and Ace entered the battlefield. Ace was still wearing his usual clothes, but Kai wore a different kind of armour this time. It was Yardrat armour.

"Huh!" Kai thought to himself, feeling nervous as he surveyed the crowd. "I haven't had a chance to wear this armor I bought lately." The eyes of many were upon him, making him acutely aware of their scrutiny.

His gaze landed on Ai, who sat with the twins beside her. Chronoa was next to Ruby, and Elder Kai sat with Aqua. He smiled and waved at them, hoping the old pervert wouldn’t do anything inappropriate around Ai.

"Woah, I never knew Mr. Kai was popular in this world too!" Ruby exclaimed, her curiosity piqued.

Chronoa chuckled but was interrupted by a purple-haired man stepping forward. "Of course. He saved the entire history from being destroyed by a demon god," he said confidently.

"Who are you?" Aqua asked, eyeing the newcomer.

"I’m Trunks," he introduced himself, revealing that he was Kai's brother figure and the leader of the Time Patrol.

Chronoa nodded proudly, claiming credit for showing him the ropes. Ruby, however, was too busy staring at Trunks to pay attention. "So... Handsome!!!" she squealed with delight, causing everyone to exchange awkward glances as Trunks awkwardly thanked her before commenting on Ace's incredible Ki.

Kai jumped slightly as he warmed up, entering his battle stance just as Ace did the same. Suddenly, Ai cheered for him, drawing his attention. Her support filled him with determination as he prepared for what lay ahead.

"Go, Kai-kun!! Do your best!!!" Ai screamed in his support. Kai was distracted a bit, making Ace see this opportunity and rush to Kai, kicking him in the process.

"You shouldn't do that." Everyone sweatdropped at Ai as she laughed awkwardly.

"Ouwch! That's playing dirty, you know!" Kai winced, and Ace couldn't help but snicker at him, saying that his guard was wide open. Then, they both clashed at such speed that the idol and her kids could only see blurs of them.

"I can't see anything." Aqua said it out loud as his mother and sister nodded. Trunks pointed to the big screen that showed Kai's and Ace's battle in slow motion. It was shown that Kai was at a massive disadvantage as Ace was using his Ultimate form from the start.

Kai blasted Ace to get away from him. It looks like he needs to step it up a notch. His power started to rise rapidly, and his hair began to spike up and become more rigid. The ground started to shake tremendously as Kai let out a powerful roar. His white aura became golden as he transformed into Super Saiyan 2.

"HAAAARHH!!!" His messy hair turned blond, and sparks of electricity covered his body. Everyone cheered in response as Kai rushed to Ace and punched him in the sky. Before he reached the atmosphere layer, Kai appeared behind him and kicked him back to the ground.

"Guarhk!!" Ace screamed in pain. That kick really did some damage to him. He stopped himself before he reached the ground. He stared directly at Kai as he said,

'Huh, you're really powerful, Kai-san!" Ace commented on Kai, who descended to his level.

"Heh, you're no pushover either. You're holding back, right?" Kai smirked at Ace. Ace chuckled as he confirmed that he's only using 60 percent of his power. But Ace noted that Kai hasn't been fighting at his best, and Kai nodded.
