It was kind of crazy how XiaoLin roamed around that day while holding hands with a stranger. It was like their bodies had never crossed each other's path but their souls were so familiar with one another. The atmosphere around them was ambiguous for the whole time.

During the time they spent together, they got to know each other a little. Qin JingHuan was a nouveau riche; an upstart businessman. In fact, he was one of the investors of the festival. He was three years older than XiaoLin. His family consisted of just himself.

Anyways, they were holding their hands the entire time. They only separated when they went to have dinner together. But letting go of their hands filled their soul with a strange emptiness.

After having dinner, the two walked together, not knowing what to say. JingHuan took out the hairpin from his pocket. He finally found his courage and said,

"This hairpin… Can I give it to you?"

XiaoLin was surprised,

"To… To me. But I don't have long hair."

"Well, it doesn't matter. Also, you're wearing this wig now. I think it'll suit you. So… If you don't mind…"

XiaoLin smiled and nodded. "Can you help me put on the hairpin, Huan-ge?"

"Hmm…"

JingHuan helped XiaoLin out on the hairpin. His hands were trembling while doing so. It was like his soul was filled with incredible happiness.

In fact, the same could be said for XiaoLin.

XiaoLin turned around and faced JingHuan. Both of them stared at each other, as if they were having a staring contest.

"Do you… want to rest in an inn…together?" XiaoLin asked shyly.

JingHuan nodded while blushing.

There were several inns and hotels around the festival area decorated like cultural buildings. Qin JingHuan and Chen XiaoLin quickly registered their IDs at the nearest one and booked a room.

After entering the room, XiaoLin took the initiative to touch their lips. JingHuan also reciprocated. He tenderly kissed back while his hands gently removed XiaoLin's wig and ran his fingers through his hair. Sloppy sound of kisses could be heard in the room as their tongues became entangled.

After a long kiss, both of them moved their faces to a close distance and gazed upon the other. JingHuan gently kissed XiaoLin all over the face affectionately. Finally, he picked him up in a princess carry and moved their business to the bed.

The next morning, XiaoLin was in a daze when he woke up. It took him a while to come into his senses.

'Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh'

He covered his face with his hands to hide his embarrassment. What had he said to Li NanZhen? He said that he needed some time before getting intimate with someone and here he was, in the arms of a man whom he didn't even know for even 24 hours.

"You're awake…"

Suddenly hearing JingHuan speak in a raspy voice scared the living soul out of XiaoLin.

"Ye-yes… Last night…"

"Ah… I'm absolutely sorry about last night…" JingHuan said apologetically.

XiaoLin was a little disappointed. Was JingHuan regretting what happened?

However, JingHuan didn't give much time for XiaoLin's weird thoughts to proceed further.

"I originally wanted us to get to know each other better before having an official relationship… And then considering such affairs…"

XiaoLin blushed. 'Oh… He wants us to develop further.'

JingHuan held XiaoLin's hand and continued saying, "Although the order is kind of messed up, and the atmosphere doesn't seem to be the perfect one, I was wondering if you could give us the chance to know each other, with the intention to get married in the future?"

"I do!!!"

"..........."

He isn't proposing to you yet! Calm down, XiaoLin!

XiaoLin was quite embarrassed. He was absolutely going crazy.

"That works too." JingHuan said while laughing.

It was absolutely insane how fast XiaoLin and JingHuan were going. They were seeing each other for a month and had already done things only a couple who have been together for a long time would do. Despite knowing how fast they were advancing, neither of them could stop themselves.

If all of it was an abyss, then neither of them hesitated before jumping in it. As if their souls were pulling each other together and the door of rationality closed by itself.

JingHuan once said to XiaoLin while hugging him in his arms,

"Are you sure you're not a witch? What kind of love potion did you give me for me to fall so helplessly in love with you?"

XiaoLin squirmed in his arms like a cat, chuckling as he said,

"There's no antidote for this potion. Just give in, Huan-ge!"

The connection they felt was almost unnatural. The love itself was unbelievable. Yet they hopelessly fell in.

Finally, JingHuan proposed only three months into their relationship and naturally, XiaoLin agreed. They had a small wedding with only closest family members and friends. For some reason, both of them cried as they said their wedding vows, scaring the shit out of their guests.

Getting married did relieve the anxiety they usually felt while being separate from one another. It soothed all those untold and unknown worries they had in their heart.

After a year of their marriage, they decided to have a child. Chen XiaoLin wanted to carry the child himself and ended up doing uterus transplantation, to which, one of the kids in the orphanage described him as an ‘unnecessarily emotional’ person.

It was also the same kid who asked him about how kids are born and ended up making him cry when he talked about 'storks giving babies'. Although that kid was occasionally mean, XiaoLin liked him a lot. When he was pregnant with the child, he once told the kid if he would like to play with his baby. To which, the kid kindly rejected his offer. Who knew that kid would end up regretting later on?

After 10 months, they finally had a baby boy. They named the cute chubby monkey like baby Yusheng, Qin Yusheng.

A life Qin JingHuan and Chen XiaoLin couldn't have in the other world, ended up having in this world. Maybe because the Gods took pity on them… or maybe their yearning souls found the way to each other, regardless of the differences in dimensions and worlds, to get the closure they deserved to get.

And like any other fairy tales, they ended up living happily ever after in each other's embrace.
