CHAPTER V

“ Hard times usually shape you into a stronger human being once you are done being sad “ .

STUART’s POV

Many unexpected things are already started to show up to me within this span of 2 days .At first unexpected meeting with Pearl . It’s not that I didn’t wanted to meet her , but I was not prepared for her sudden appearance .

Secondly , Pearl’s past was also an unexpected thing for me . I never imagined that she faced so much hardship , and there were no one to support her , she was all alone  . I was not there to support her nor our child .  Her family didn’t even supported her for whom she has done the act of loving me so that they can destroy me .

After hearing to her side of the story I could not resist my self any longer and I pulled her into a hug and this time she didn’t  resisted herself any longer and  she hugged me back . As soon as I hugged her , the good old memories that we spent when we were in relationship  popped in my mind . I inhaled her scent ,  she still smells of chocolate perfume that she uses . When I hugged her , her softness wrapped me , but her skin is not as soft as it was back then when I was in love and she was just acting , may be her skin has became rough due to ageing or the hard times that she faced .

But , one thing that I don’t understand is that why I hugged her ? Do I still love her ? Do I still care for her ? Why I am hurt after knowing to her side of story ? Is love for her  is still there in the deep of my heart ? I can’t find the answers for this questions .

This sudden events was totally unexpected for me , and this sudden events has totally disturbed my life and work . I could not pay any attention to my business , every time I try to think something , the thought of Pearl and her past kept on popping on my head .

And this disturbance was affecting the business , I can sense that . I have canceled 3 meetings with the investors and when someone asks me about the meeting cancellations , I don’t have anything to say .

Two days later ….

One morning during breakfast , all of a sudden , Dee asked me “ Stuart ,  I have noticed  , lately you have became too absent minded . All it started after Pearl showed up on our outlet .  What is going on in your life ? You are canceling the meetings . This is not like you “ . Yeah Daisy has a point , I have became too absent minded lately but what should I say to her ? Should I tell her about the past that Pearl has faced ? I don’t think she will believe . “ There’s nothing going on with me “ I lied .

“ You still can’t lie properly ,  something is going on and this is written all over your face “ she caught my lie . “ Sorry Dee , there is something strange going on with me . But I don’t know what is going on in me “ I spoke . “ I can suggest you one thing  , you can consult with a counsellor , I believe they can help you “ Dee suggested . “ No , I don’t want to consult with them , they will think I am mad and will prescribe some medicines “ I spoke . “ No  , there are good counsellor who will not judge you and they will also not prescribe you medicines “ she replied . “ I don’t think so “ I spoke . “ You are wrong  , there is one good counsellor in the town , Miss Capsey , she is good and infact she sits on Ashton’s hospital “ Dee replied . “ Okay , but you have to go with me “ I asked  . “ Okay I will go with you “ she replied and completed the breakfast with me .

Later in the afternoon ….

We are sitting outside of Miss Capsey’s cabin waiting for our turn in Ashton’s hospital . Daisy has done all the appointments for me . The outside of the cabin was not crowded , there were some patients waiting for their turn .
