CHAPTER XVII

“ Not all storm comes to disrupt your life , some comes to clear your path “

STUART’S POV

Today’s unexpected event took a huge toll on Pearl . I can sense she is totally broken after knowing the sick mentality of the person whom once she  considered her boy friend . She cannot believe the person with whom she spent her 10 years of childhood has such a mentality for her just because she felt in love with me  .

World is a strange place , it defines people’s actual mentality with passing time . Life also teaches us one thing , never trust anyone blindly because the shadow also leaves you in darkness .

Pearl faced the same thing , she trusted Samuel very much but in the end he broke her trust . At first he tried to kill me and then his sick mentality was revealed .

After Samuel ran away from Pearl’s house , I closed the door and went towards the kitchen to grab some water for her . While I was in the kitchen I called Dee “ hey Dee , I will be not coming to house today “ I said . “ Where are you brother ?  Is everything fine ? “ she asked . “ I am at Pearl’s house and everything is not fine , I will tell you later , long story “ I said . “ Bye , take care “ she spoke and hung up the call .

The main reason of me staying in Pearl’s house was that to support her . I know Pearl , after what she faced today she is completely broken and Liam is not that old enough to console her , so I decided to stay there in order to support her , console her and provide the shoulder to cry on .

I grabbed some water and came towards the drawing room where I saw Pearl was still sitting in that same couch and still crying  , she has hidden her face behind her hands . I put my hand on her shoulder , she raised her head and looked towards me .

I forwarded the water to her , she grabbed the glass and gulped the whole down in one go . “ Want some more ? “ I asked . She nodded and I grabbed the jug from the dinning table and filled her glass again , she gulped half of it and kept the glass on the table beside the couch .

I sat beside her , she turned towards me with a questioning look “ Stuart , you still here ? “ she asked while sobbing . Her eyes has swelled up and became red. “ Yah , I can’t leave you like this and go “ I said .

There was a silence between us .

“ See Pearl , I know you more than you know yourself . I know you are broken , I will not try to motivate you as motivating you will be useless but you just remember one thing , I am always there for you no matter what happens between us . If you need a shoulder to cry on ,  you can always lean on me “ I said .

“ Can I hug you Stuart ? “ she asked between her sobs  . I  nodded by saying yes . As soon as I nodded , she wrapped her hands around my torso and hugged me tightly , she kept her chin on my shoulder and broke into a loud cry . I wrapped my right hand behind her back of head and left hand on her back in order to console her .

She kept on crying like a small child and I rubbed her back and head  with my hands in order to console her . The same old felling formed into my body , I still miss her . I miss her hug . “ Don’t hold your tears Pearl , you can use my shoulder as much as you wish , I am always there for you “ I said and she broke into more cry . I can sense my left side of the  shoulder is getting wet with her tears , I will not complain about that .

She was crying profusely . After some time I realised her cry has stopped and she sniffed her nose . She raised her chin from my shoulder and looked at me , I can see her eyes have swollen up and became red because of her cry . I pulled her head and kept it resting on my chest . She didn’t complaint about that , and kept her head on my chest while I rest my chin on her head .
