We headed downstairs to where his sister was at the table and his mom was plating cookies for us.

"Your minds need food?" She asked .

"Yes, please" I said looking at the cookies . Benny 's sister didn't talk much.

 "What's your name?" I asked eating a cookie .

 "Lucy."

" I'm Robin. " Their mom just stopped and stared at me. Then after what felt like forever she said,

 "Is your last name Morris?"

" yes mam" I have never seen someone have a big smile on their face like that. She came up to me and gave me a hug. I was so confused and so was Benny. She finally let  go and started to explain,

"When you were 5 you and Benny were really close. You guys loved to play ball together. Until you moved. But I'm glad to see your back!"

" oh wow I didn't know any of that maybe that's why he looked like I knew him from some where " I answered. Mrs. Rodriguez then asked for my mom's phone number so I gave it to her and then Benny and I went upstairs to finish out homework. We both had ELA homework. He seemed really good at writing and ELA was one of my strengths. Once we finished we talked about us when we were little. Then he pulled out a black and white photo. I saw me when I was 6. I remember that was the day I moved away. He told me that he hardly remembered what was going on that day but he knew that it was me.

"Knock, knock."  Benny and I looked at each other he shrugged . He then answered the door. It was Lucy. She just wanted to hangout. She came in and sat on Benny 's bed. Benny and I started talking about the teachers that were just over the top serious and the one's that hardly cared. I then asked,

"What does the school do as an end of the year celebration? "

 "A dance" he answered .

"Oh" I said kinda low. To be honest I never really liked going to dances . I never liked dressing to fancy either. It's not that I didn't like it but it just wasn't my style.

"What is it?" He asked .

"Nothing, it's just that I don't really attended school dances"

 " That's alright because I don't either " he said smiling.

"So how old are you Lucy?"

 " Seven! "

"Tell me about yourself" she looked so happy.

"Well, I have 8 friends and I know everyone in my school. I'm in second grade. I like to go shopping with my mom and buy new clothes" she went on and on. I knew I already would get along with her she's such a sweetheart . I sat there and listened to what she had to say and smiled.

Benny 's POV:

I watched as Lucy was telling Robin about herself. Robin was really good with little kids. She had a lot of patients unlike me. I would have walked away already. I looked over at Robin who was still engaged in my sister's explaining and stories. Wow, Robin's really pretty. In a friendly way not a lovey dovey way. Anyways why would I like her I need to focus on baseball even though I am focused I need no distractions!

Robin 's POV:

We heard a knock on the door. The door slowly opened it was Mrs.Rodriguez.

"The boys are here to pick you guys up for ball"

" oh ok" we went downstairs to the door.

"Thanks for the food Mrs. Rodriguez."

" of course Robin I was just happy to see you " she answered. I then gave Lucy a hug and said goodbye. Benny and I then walked on the door to the boys.

"Hey you didn't tell us much about your first day" Scott said getting the others engaged . We walked along a clear path.

"Well, it was just like a normal school day. I was so happy to see Ella. Everyone seemed nice. Most of my classes went really well." I answered . I could still tell Bertram was dreaming about Ella. I went up to him and said,

"You should take a shot on Ella"

" What why? " he  said trying to cover up his crush on Ella.

" You don't gotta hide. C'mon I know she would say yes. Just think about it. "

"Fine" the boys as usual started talking about baseball and there inside jokes . We made it to the sandlot. I noticed there was a fence that looked like it might have fell to the ground or something.

"What happened to the fence guys" I said pointing to it.

" long story " Squints answered. They all got on their positions.

 "Wanna bat?" Benny asked .

"Sure" I said as he handed me the bat . I could hear some of the boys saying,

'she'll never hit it '

'Yeah get a homer ' I could hear them laughing. Benny gave me a thumbs up. Then I nodded at Kenny telling him I was ready. That ball came fast. I swung 'CRACK!' I dropped the bat and started running the bases. The ball went very far and I made it to second base. After that I didn't hear anymore comments from any of the boys. We continued playing until we all got hungry. We all started walking around 7:30. Benny dropped me off at my house since we were neighbours.

 "Thanks for the help Morris"

" Anytime Rodriguez " I answered him back. He said bye and left the house. I walked in the house. I smelt something cooking it was mashed potatoes? What do we need those for?

 "Hey mom!"

" Hi how was ball? "

 "Good"

" Did you get all your homework done with Benny? "

 "Yup"

" Good go get changed into something nice. We got invited to a welcoming dinner. "

"Alright" I said running up the stairs.
