Are we?

Not a date

I closed the blinds and got dressed into jeans, a white top, and a red button up sweater. I quickly did my makeup and skin routine and rushed to the kitchen to the smell of pancakes. My mom looked over at me,

 "Hungry?" She asked smiling. I quickly sat down beside Zack and my dad. My mom then served the pancakes and I ate so fast they were so good. I went up to my room so I could open the window to let air flow through my room. I saw Benny in his room too. He waved and I smiled back. He opened his window and yelled,

 "Wanna walk to school together again?" He asked.

 " Sure. " I responded.

 "Race you outside" he smirked. He counted down and I ran downstairs as fast as I could. My mom was asking me  what I was doing.

 "No time to explain. I gotta go." I said. I got my backpack and quickly put on my shoes and ran out the door yelling bye to my mom and brother. My dad was already at work.  I ran outside going to knock on Benny's door to show him how slow he was. Until someone grabbed me and picked me up spinning me around. It was Benny looks like I didn't win the race I thought to myself.  

 "You lost Morris" he said putting me down. I rolled my eyes in response. 

 "So where we going after school?" I asked .

 "Secret." He said .

 "Well I gotta change. What  do I wear?"

 " I'll get Ella to help you. "

 "What no she'll think it's a date"I practically yelled. He shrugged. We saw the school. 

" Fine" I replied sighing. 

We got to the school and I went to my locker where I found ella talking to some guy.  She waved to me  as he left her side. I smiled as I opened  my locker getting my things ready. Ella was talking about this math test she has to do.

 "What you doing after school? Wanna hangout?" Ella asked. I hesitated before I answered. I looked down and sighed closing my locker. 

 " everything okay? "She asked. 

" It's just I kinda have to go on a "date" with Benny after school " I answered. 

 "What?!" she yelled turning heads at us. I covered her mouth telling her to be quiet.

 "Look ok I'll explain at lunch alright but don't go telling anyone." She nodded at me. 

 " well I should get going see you later Robin" she said walking away. I waved back smiling.  I was about to go to health class when I remembered I forgot my notebook. I went back to my locker to get it. 

 "Hey your new here right?" someone said. I turned around to see that Jordan guy.

 "Uh yeah" I said closing my locker. 

 "Well I can show you around if you like" he smirked. 

 "Um no thanks I already have a guide thanks anyways" I said about to walk away. He grabbed my arm turning me back around to him pulling me close into him. 

 " How about after school then" he smirked at me. 

 "No thanks. Now please I gotta get to class." I said trying to get his hands off me. I could see his friends laughing behind him.  Someone then grabbed my shoulders pulling me back out of Jordan's grip. I looked up and it was Benny. 

 "Leave her alone Philips" Benny spoke. Jordan smirked before leaving.

 "Come on lets go" Benny said. We had health for an hour today so we were working together on that stupid emotion project again.  I looked down the whole time we walked to the class. We got there and sat in the back of the classroom. I stayed quiet the whole time. I was kinda embarrassed about what had just happened. Class had started but I basically tuned out everything.  That when Benny was trying to get my attention it startled me a bit.

 "You coming?" he asked.

 "Where?"

 " we're gonna work on our project outside. " he responded.

 "Oh yeah that sounds like a good idea."  We grabbed our stuff and went to the front of the school  to work. 

 "You okay?" He asked once we got outside.

 "Yeah fine." I said. He still looked concerned but I didn't wanna talk about it.  We started talking about our topic which was excitement . We were trying to come up with some examples to put on our poster. When we thought of birthdays and how they are exciting and how the excitement builds up the day before. So that's what we did we decorated it with balloons, a birthday cake, and presents. Soon it was science and it was so boring I zoned out until I heard the bell where I ran to my locker to put my stuff there and go to a Ella.   I walked to the cafeteria when I saw Ella. She waved to me she was sitting by Bertram. I thought it was cute. So I tried not to bother but she wanted to hear the story of Benny and I "date" later. I practically whispered everything in her ear. Once I finished telling her, her jaw was dropped. Benny came and Sat  down. Ella looked at me and we stopped talking about it.  Benny passed Ella a note. She read it then looked up and winked at me in guessing he told her where we were going so she could help with my outfit.  I looked at Benny and he noticed and smiled at me. Soon the school day was done. Ella was coming over to my place to help me. This is gonna be a long session of trying to pick out an outfit . Here we go.
