Chapter 6: Game Night

--Ella's Pov--

It's December 14th and Kelsey and I finished setting up the apartment for Christmas weeks ago. My bedroom has a candle burning in it whenever I'm home. There are fairy lights all over the apartment but today we finally got a star for the tree. It barely fits on top but it's perfect, "This place looks amazing," Chris says walking inside and looking around. Chip hasn't even been here since we decorated. Everyone's schedules have been overly busy with their channels and visiting home before the holidays.

I give Chris a quick hug and bring him into the kitchen, "I'm nervous about tonight," I tell him as he sits down at the counter. I slide him a mug of hot cocoa and he widens his eyes at the mug.

"Is this lord of the rings?" He asks holding it up. I nod my head and tell him it's our Christmas present to him. Kelsey walks in with Arthur and they are both wearing the cutest Christmas sweaters. They bought them at the mall a couple days prior. I guess our game night is a bit more competitive now. We keep calling this a double date but Chris and I are nothing but platonic. He's been here almost three times this week. He's easy to talk to and he's definitely my favorite person from Chip's friend group.  He takes his backpack off his back and grabs three presents. Arthur hugs Chris making us smile as we start opening the packages. There's a small box and I lift up the top seeing a small microphone inside.

"I was hoping you didn't get one yet but at dinner last week you said you wanted one," He says looking nervous to see if I like it. I walk over putting my arms on his shoulders as he smiles.

"This is amazing. Now I can officially harass you guys for content," I tell him as he nods his head, "I'm so excited to use this," I giggle looking at Kelsey. She holds up a Polaroid camera and widens her eyes.

"This is too much. These things are expensive," She says giving Chris a quick hug. Arthur pulls out a piece of paper that says Chris owes him ten video ideas. Arthur smiles and shows him the gift he got for Chris. It's the same thing but his is more colorful.

"That's amazing," I tell them as I hold my phone up to take a picture of them. I upload it to my Instagram story tagging them, "What games are we thinking of playing tonight?" I ask showing off our small selection of games.

"I haven't played Monopoly in forever," Arthur says picking up the box. We move into the Livingroom after everyone gets a cup of hot cocoa. It's the perfect temperature and it makes me excited for Christmas. It kind of sucks that I'll be alone for it but I'm happy that Kelsey is going home to visit her family. I don't think a day full of movies and snacks sounds bad to me. Kelsey grabs her phone and asks the guys if they are hungry just as my stomach growls. We all laugh and find the best place to order from. We decide on a simple pizza and Kelsey moves to her bedroom to call in the order.

"Do you want to walk down the street and pick it up? Or we can get it delivered?" She asks peeking her head back in.

"I'll walk down," I tell her as she disappears again, "It's like two blocks away," I tell them as I sip on my drink.

"I'll come with," Chris says as I start slipping my shoes on. I could honestly destroy an entire pizza by myself right now. We get the board ready before we go so we can eat and get right into the game. I grab my wallet and keys before walking out, "So....can I talk about the elephant in the room?" He asks making me worry about what's on his mind, "How come Chip isn't here?" He asks.
