Five weeks had passed in the blink of an eye since then. The air was tangible between the three alphas, who had started to distance themselves from each other in a silent but common agreement. All were battling on their own whether the mind-link was that great of an idea in the end with how disastrous it turned out. Naturally, they were unaware of the exact consequences their little ordeal had on the orange head's end.
Given the ginger's reaction that they could not only witness with their eyes but genuinely feel through the bond, they messed up badly. At first, they mistakenly thought the younger was overwhelmed being face to face with his long-lost mates, but the thought was quickly shut off...
Yamaguchi hovered his cold fingers over his left hip where the phantom of a scar lingered. Just before the connection cut off, an excruciating pain had briefly burst through his side. The greenette hadn't been impaled, same with Tobio and Kei. Acknowledging the fact that the connection between the four had been temporarily restored during the whole procedure, it left no room to doubts... Hinata had been injured and most likely by their fault. It made the three sick knowing that their omega paid the price of their impatience.

Yamaguchi was roaming around the village as per usual when he accidentally overheard a concerning conversation. Apparently, a suspicious individual had been spotted earlier in the morning at the outskirts of the Earth Tribe's village. The green-haired boy tensed.
All villages had come around the idea of putting up a new military regimen to guard their respective territory in order to prevent another incident to happen and quell the feeling of insecurity.
Now that he thought about it, the patrols hadn't seemed to follow their usual patterns today, which was odd in itself. Although, that fact wasn't what triggered the freckled teen the most. Indeed, everybody looked more agitated meaning that they all had been able to detect the issue to some extent... well except for him.
Yamaguchi knew all too well he was supposed to carry the legacy of his family and was bond to lead his clan one day, yet he couldn't help but feel insecure about his leadership. He wasn't one to dwell but couldn't shake off the sentiment that he'll never be ready to take over from his parents. In his eyes, the current predicament was proof that he wasn't accountable for that task, which allowed him to further doubt himself. He wasn't petty about it, just upset. He sometimes wished he could be more like Tsukishima or Kageyama. The first one was a fine strategist gifted with a remarkable intelligence while the second one shone on the field thanks to his brilliant directives and excellent control over his own power.
Yamaguchi sighed, quickly putting a halt to his thoughts. There was no use to fret about the impossible now... After all, Yamaguchi was his own person with his qualities and his flaws. The boy took pride in his undying determination and was resolved to put it to use to improve himself and become worthy of the title of chief of the Earth tribe. So, even if he couldn't be the perfect general, he would never let anyone in his reach down.
