Chaos had ensued the following days. The stress had been piling up and slowly poisoning everyone to the core, impending any form of constructive dialogue. The relations between the clans were also festering from the lack of open communication. Yamaguchi wasn't too keen on politics mainly because of his kind and empathetic nature. At this exact moment, he couldn't quite comprehend the essence of the heated argument splitting his parents downstairs and he quite frankly didn't wish to. The situation was escalating day by day, steadily slipping out of their control and it scared him.
Tadashi was currently hiding underneath his fluffy blanket, his knuckles turning white from the deathly grip on the thin tissue shielding him from the cruel reality. Though it didn't do much to muffle the sounds of yelling, he shakily brought his hands to cover his ears. He felt like ripping his ears off, the phantom of steady streams of blood picturing in his delirious mind. He lost track oh how much time the banter between his parents had already been going on at this point, unable to decipher whether it'd be seconds, minutes or hours.
A whine tore through the silence at the rooting uneasiness. He hastily shoved away the duvet over his head, suddenly feeling suffocated by the walls seemingly closing in on him. He shuddered at the sudden coldness of the autumnal brisk sneaking past his open window on his arms and neck, but quickly dismissed the cold sensation to focus on his shallow breathing. He closed his eyes to minimise the sensory influx. A small smile graced his trembling lips as the gentle voice of Tobio ringed through his ears, counting the seconds to hold in his breath before exhaling and so on. The panic slowly subsided thanks to the ravenette's exercises. The blue-eyed alpha had showed unwavering guidance every time a panic episode set Yamaguchi on, manifesting utmost patience and cradling the green-eyed male until he got back on his feet.
Yamaguchi knew better though that the calm wouldn't last, familiar with the way how things would crash to him by waves. The weight of the situation hit him right back as his anxiety pumped through his veins, sending him in another attack.
He could feel the tears stinging his eyes, menacing to overflow once more. The greenette used to be looked-down for being a crybaby. Unfortunately, his high-status hadn't exempted him against receiving a poor treatment. Children could be so mean... He felt himself dissociating, getting immersed in the recollection of past memories mainly displaying some shoving around, name-calling or snarky remarks. A bittersweet feeling blistered at the distant memory of his former self crashing pitifully to the ground and his naive spirit crushing under each insults thrown his way. Right now, he didn't feel any different from that time, as the all-too familiar tinge of powerlessness settled in his throbbing heart.
Through the veil of tears, the ghost of a smile fleetingly decorated his smudged face as a distinct memory flashed before his eyes. He clung desperately to the sense of safety ingrained in the scene of his blonde lover pushing his tormentors away, shouting at them to scram. His heart swelled at the remembrance of the gentle praises from his alpha, sweet-talking him for his bravery upon withstanding for so long the bullying and how much valuable it was to be able to freely express his emotions.
He let out a low chuckle at the thought that his soulmates managed to find their way through Yamaguchi in any circumstances. They were truly amazing.
But the welcoming relief was short-lived. He cowered when the piercing scream of his mother echoed through the house, followed by the thud of the front door slamming shut. He gulped, unable to refrain the agitation crumpling within his body.
He was at the end of his wits, beads of sweat skimming his pale face and black dots edging his vision. He silently prayed for one of his mates to barge to his rescue and offer the comfort he desperately craved in that instance.
He trained his frightened gaze along the room in need of a distraction before his eyes flickered to the window. His lip started to tremble, his tired eyes bringing forth new tears. A newfound hope assembled within the wildly beating heart in his chest at the sight before him. He sucked in a breath, processing the new unravelling flood of thoughts submerging his brain.
It was a whole lot and more to process for his fatigued body. He swayed on his feet, making him painfully aware of the exhaustion taking a hold of him. That's when it clicked. The haze cleared leaving him with the painful realisation that his mind was playing sick tricks on him. His gaze hardened as he laughed breathily, a mixture of self-loath and hurt dripping from the words he spat :
"Go away!"
He repeated the words, voice booming against the walls of his small room, until the plea eventually died down in his hoarse throat. He buried his head in his knees in defeat, enraged at himself for its deceit. He felt as if he had long since hit rock bottom, and drilled bellow. The feeling of helplessness clawing at his chest as he could feel the wetness of the tears coating his skin.
He startled as two small hands gently encased his face and forced him to look up, their fingertips slowly caressing his cheeks and tracing the remains of the tears. He stared in awe at the figure standing in front of him, their eyes shining with mirth as they giggled.
He leaned in the touch, soaking in the soothing warmth radiating from the contact. He warily reached for the hands coaxing him to relax by drawing small patterns on his freckled skin, afraid that this moment of solace would turn out to be volatile. It was unfathomable yet the proof laid just beneath his fingertips. Could it really be him ?
All his doubts flew out of the window the moment soft lips gently brushed against his own, a rush of happiness washing away every negative thoughts. When the boy backed away a second later, Yamaguchi dived right back in. He savoured the warm and soft touch of it along with its faint taste of honey. The greenette poured all his emotions into that one kiss, enjoying the fuzziness gushing over him. The two finally separated, a string of saliva connecting their mouth.
The greenette checked in blithe, letting the name of his love rolling on his tongue.
"Shoyo"
The ginger answered with his signature bright smile. The greenette slumped in the arms of his omega, abiding to all gods that he would never ever let go of his soulmate because he would rather burn too close to the sun than shiver from its shine.
Hinata carved his fingers through the green curls, coddling his shaken alpha. He usually watched over his three soulmates from afar. He almost shattered when he witnessed his love in such a deplorable state. He couldn't ignore the cry of help dying on his lips and silent scream of agony haunting his viridian green eyes.
Even though, he hadn't planned to reveal himself so soon and would probably face some consequences back at home, for now, he didn't care... because his mate was safe and sound in his arms.
"Shh, I'm back my love."
The contended smile that tugged on his alpha at his declaration cemented his final resolve, with no feelings of regret whatsoever.
Before his sensations slowly dulled as he drifted away, the greenette felt the sweet lips of his omega pressing on his forehead, the gesture conveying uttermost care and love. Whatever reason had enjoined Shoyo to hide from them, the alpha was solely convinced of the ginger's honesty, all hard feelings now forgiven.
