Yamaguchi sprang up at the sudden foreign contact of two cold hands clasping on his waist. Instinctively wary, the boy craned his neck to the side to acknowledge the new presence behind him. A surprise yelp escaped his lips as he reckoned the newcomer as his lover. Tsukishima offered a crooked smile at the greenette, who instantly relaxed in his hold. They stare at each other fondly, sweet words building up in their throats, both being too overwhelmed at the moment to say them aloud.
The greenette properly turned around and carefully coaxed the other in his embrace. He tenderly brushed his fingers on the taller's face, following the outline of his cheekbones down to his jaw, never once diverting his gaze from the golden orbs. He gently guided the taller's lips to his own, at last sharing a chaste kiss with the blonde.
"I missed you"
"I missed you too, darling."
A queasy feeling bubbled in the greenette's chest as a pink hue crept onto his freckled cheeks upon hearing the endearing nickname.
"You're such a tease..."
A knowing smirk danced on Tsukishima's lips at the other's weak comeback as he playfully retorted.
"Come on, I know you love it."
Yamaguchi huffed but nonetheless agreed to the previous statement, his voice barely above a whisper.
"I do..."
The wind blew and both felt it caress their sensitive skin, but there was no bite to it. The blonde watched in awe as his partner wandered his forest green eyes around the scenery, seemingly gleaming in the dim light of this late autumn afternoon. As a member of the Earth tribe, Yamaguchi nurtured a deep connection with nature. The shorter shut his eyes, wholeheartedly abandoning himself to the melody of the forest, that came alive with chirps, croaks and whatnot.
The idyll abruptly came to a stop though as a rustling sound of crumpled leaves and rushed footsteps echoed through the forest, disrupting the previous tranquillity. The two boys twirled their head to the left as a well-known ravenette padded forward to them. The blue-eyed alpha launched himself in the arms of his mates, snuggling in the crook of their necks. The three hugged for a long time before Kageyama finally stepped back, never tearing his gaze apart from the other two.
"Are you okay?"
The two knitted their eyebrows at the worry that laced his words. Yamaguchi fidgeted his fingers at the newfound atmosphere while Tsukishima immediately asked in an inquisitive tone.
"Yeah, we are. Why? Is there something wrong?"
"Well... Some worrisome rumours have been circulating around..."
"Huh?"
"The guards are on edge since a mysterious individual has been seen on a few occasions sneaking in the Air and Water Tribe's lands. Well, in fact, we can't know for sure that it's the same person, not that it really matters. The thing is that not only do we not know their intentions, but also every time someone's about to catch them, they disappear in thin air."
The megane frowned in woe as he declared:
"I didn't hear anything about that..."
Uneasy, the greenette butted in.
"Add the Earth Tribe territory to that list... they also attempted to penetrate our village."
The two boys gasped, a wave of apprehension taking over.
"When?"
"... This morning."
An eerie silent followed the last revelation. The three of them were having an inner battle to repress their alphan primary instinct of protection.
The blonde appeared to be the first one to recover, quickly dismissing the urge to hold the other two close and never let go as he assessed the early night time.
"We should go, the sun is setting... Let's meet here each day by 9.00 a.m. Be careful."
The two nodded as the taller pecked their forehead before disappearing in the woods.
Kageyama itched for the greenette's touch, but settled to a gentle squeeze of the hand before marching over his home. Though , Yamaguchi grabbed his arm, swiftly spinning him around before kissing him softly.
His lips curved into a cunning smile at the stunned expression of the other. He shamelessly licked his lips, erupting in a fit of giggles as a ravishing blush adorned the raven's cheeks. He finally waved goodbye to the blue-eyed alpha before taking his leave as well, not without sending his way a seductive wink.
Whether Yamaguchi took the hint or had the same craving feeling, the ravenette didn't know but he couldn't be more thankful to count the freckled man as one of his fateful mate.
