Y/n stood quietly near the edge of the room, her eyes scanning the crowd of sharply dressed individuals draped in expensive suits and dresses, masks barely concealing identities. A flicker of unease passed through her. These people weren’t just guests they were wolves dressed in silk, probably calculating their next move, their next betrayal, their next blood-stained deal. She wondered what went on in the minds of mafia leaders and their underlings. Scheming? Plotting their next conquest? Or simply pretending like their hands weren’t stained red?

Her gaze drifted, this time landing on a group of young women about her age, each draped in dresses so revealing it almost looked like fabric had been spared on purpose. Layers of makeup painted on their faces like masks, perfect smiles, seductive eyes, dangerous intentions.

What are they doing here? Y/n’s brows furrowed. Are these the infamous ‘seducers’ every gang uses to manipulate or trap their enemies? She hated the thought. It disgusted her, not because of what they wore, but the purpose they served. She didn’t blame the girls. Sometimes, life cornered you so tightly, you did what you had to just to survive. Peace wasn’t always a choice it was a privilege. People like Jungkook were made by war, not born into peace.

Tapping her polished nails against the counter, she got lost in her thoughts until someone beside her ordered a drink, his voice smooth, casual. She didn’t pay attention not until a cheerful “Hi!” pulled her back.

She blinked at him.

“Hello,” she replied, curt but polite.

“You’re Jeon Jungkook’s girlfriend, right?” the man asked with a grin. His tone didn’t sit right with her.

Y/n gave a small nod, not really in the mood for conversation, especially not with a stranger.

“If you don’t mind… may I know your name? I’m Min-Joon.”

Another tight-lipped smile. Why does everyone here feel the need to talk to me? she thought, silently cursing the mask on her face that was starting to itch. “Y/n,” she said simply. No surname. Jungkook had warned her against it before the party.

Before she could turn away, another man sidled up beside her. Great. She sighed internally. Is this a social hour now?

“You seem… uninterested,” Min-Joon said with a teasing tilt of his head.

“You guessed right.”

He chuckled. “Any particular reason? Let me guess you got into a fight with your boyfriend.”

Y/n looked at him like he’d just grown two heads. “Excuse me? No need to poke around in our business. And for your information my boo is the cutest.”

Min-Joon laughed in disbelief. “Cutest? Jeon Jungkook? The devil himself? Someone wake me up.”

Y/n closed her eyes in restraint, her patience thinning.

“Do you have some weird obsession with him or something?”

Min-Joon blinked. “What? No.”

“Then why do you care if he’s cute or not? Tell me, who’s his girlfriend?”

“You, obviously.”

“Exactly. So, who are you to him?”

“…No one.”

“Right. Just another random guy with the same tired opinion about my boo. So let me explain something: your judgment doesn’t matter. I’m the one who knows him. So what does that tell you?”
